Head bolts? Dunno if you ford boys re use em or not..

GP99GT 03-04-2009 05:51 PM

good call, i have a new set of ARP head bolts

edit: they can be reused if theyre cleaned well so you get the correct torque reading

LTb1ow 03-04-2009 05:52 PM

Spark plugs and wire kit?

GP99GT 03-04-2009 05:58 PM

got new wires, cap, rotor, and coil on the car...and yes i have plugs sitting here somewhere that are 1 heat range colder. another good call

LTb1ow 03-04-2009 05:59 PM

Fluids and what not?

sweetbmxrider 03-04-2009 06:03 PM

valve cover gaskets in the intake set?

LTb1ow 03-04-2009 06:06 PM

Is this a OHC engine?

I dunno if you have done it, but while the heads off it would be an easy time to replace springs and what not.

GP99GT 03-04-2009 06:10 PM

valve cover gaskets i just put on...they should still be good for reusing

motor is OHV...ford 302

fluids i can get anytime, im really just looking for stuff id have to order at this point...im not doing the job myself btw.

springs on the heads will be fine, im keeping the stock cam

LTb1ow 03-04-2009 06:11 PM

Pft stock cam! Go big or go home!

GP99GT 03-04-2009 06:14 PM

thought about it....but theres much more that i need to do before i need more power

cant go much over .510 lift with the stock pistons anyway

LTb1ow 03-04-2009 06:16 PM

Hmm, I can't think of anything else, except for a few k in the bank for when it goes poof. ;)

Savage_Messiah 03-04-2009 06:17 PM

You forgot the 3800sII to drop in :-D

GP99GT 03-04-2009 06:17 PM

im betting the trans or rear axles will let go before the motor does...but who knows

LTb1ow 03-04-2009 06:18 PM

So whats this gonna put you at? 350 whp?

:)

GP99GT 03-04-2009 06:25 PM

350-400 somewhere in there...with the stock pulleys

edit: i have just been informed that it is my friends 21st bday today...i may not make it back to this thread tonight

Knipps 03-04-2009 06:27 PM

Godspeed!

Ian 03-04-2009 07:48 PM

For how little they cost I wouldn't ever want to reuse any of the critical bolts on a motor. Once the bolts are installed and torqued down they stretch, they pull a little bit more when you take them out too. So if you go through another tightening sequence, they are pretty much used up.

LTb1ow 03-04-2009 08:09 PM

Especially on a blower car, would hate to lift the heads...

Slo86Bird 03-04-2009 10:46 PM

Slo86Bird 03-04-2009 10:47 PM
