Getting a little deeper into the 12's
 

Made it out to Atco tonight to test out the new setup of skinnies, no front sway bar, and the tick master cylinder. I was able to actually launch the car today, but the slave cylinder and clutch are shot. I was able to get a best E.T., but MPH is atleast 3 mph low for what I'm running. I was able to get in 11 runs and left by 830. Here is a rundown of my best runs:

12.48@112.19mph on a 1.971 60'
12.456@112.20mph on a 1.816:shock: 60'
12.449@111.94mph on a 1.831 60'
12.443@112.12mph on a 1.812:shock: 60'
12.435@112.57mph on a 1.879 60'

Previous best was a 12.525@113.1mph.


in car video of a 12.4xx run. Mostly just black screen because the camera moved when I launched, but you can still listen to the sweet sounds of the LS1 going through the gears.

thanks. I don't think the 10 bolt would like me very much if I did that. I shocked the 10 bolt really bad on one run and i thought it was gonna rip out it hooked so hard. Not bad for a 10 bolt that has 180k on it and I've never changed the fluid since i bought the car over a year ago :shock:

killer audio clip :wink: you need to fab a camera mount up somehow. be it headrest to headrest, 6LE's, some sort of tripod on the trans tunnel. somethin.....

I was getting mounting advice from ron last night...haha. It's not as bad as the other attempt I had at in car video later in the night....I did a nice long burnout and had to get on the brakes hard before the start line and the camera went flying off of the seat and into the dash, and then when I took off, the camera got wedged in between the seat and the door...took me 5 minutes to find it and I thought for sure I had broke it.

It's amazing how once you start getting into the lower ends of the 12's, people start becoming interested in your car. Last night was the first night that I had atleast 5 different people come up to me and compliment me on the car and the times it was posting. I also felt accomplished by beating a 1st gen camaro that was all restored and I also beat up on a newer mustang(99-04) by 2+ seconds.

how did ron do? i didn't see a thread so i'm thinkin something broke?

I left at 8:30 and the car was running fine. He was running high 11's all night.

Haha thanks. The fact that my dad was a drag racer might have something to do with it. Pretty much every single dime I can afford to put into the car, goes into the car. When I got the car, I wanted a 12 second street car...well a year later, I want an 11 second street car.:lol: The addiction is in full stride...I have over 50 passes on the car this year and we're only 2 months into the season...haha. This thing is bound to blow up sooner or later.

Very sweet...This nice weather is tempting me more and more to make a few passes after the tc install...great runs .

Yea, just post up, I might try blowing the 10 bolt before the weather gets real warm. I've really pushed the car hard this year between hot lapping the motor and now dumping the clutch at 5500+ RPM, and it just keeps taking the abuse....it's gonna catch up to me sooner or later. Anyone have AAA? I've already used 2 tows this year, I don't know how many more I'll be able to get before AAA starts making me pay.


BTW: I had someone pull my tune yesterday with HP tuners, and the tune is very very conservative. I believe the max timing was 25-26 and from 4200-5000rpm timing is only at 23 degrees. The one good thing I found out was that the rev limiter is set at 6200.
