Cant shift after tune ?
.....
Why not let it do its job and shift itself?
why shift an auto?
your not supposed to shift it, thats why its called an automatic. i can assure you that the computer can shift faster and more accurately then you every single time
Yes , but to make it stay in 1st ( while in drive ) You have to be into the throttle pretty hard . Now with my 373's and my torq. management turned down .It just burns the tires . With the car in 1st ( manualy ) I can control the wheel spin and "pedal it" with ( 1/2 or 3/4 throttle ).Otherwise if I try to do a roll-on at 10mph I have to floor it to make it go into 1st .Then ,, pooof!!! The tires go up in smoke til 3rd gear .Not exactly good for racing .When I go to the track Ill use "D" and floor it  . But on the street where traction sometimes isnt all that good,
Sounds like you need new tires.

My car bolt ons with 3.73s would kill tires from a 30 roll...
Now I know !! With the 273's it felt ok . But now ,, much better .
Ok ...
maybe your just ruining your transmission by making it perform something its not meant to do?
I dont think so . I dont shift manually very often .Thanks for trying to help everbody .
im under the assumption the the gears arent meant to be shifted manually on the automatic and more or less the available gear selects are meant situationally...like going up a steep hill or down a steep hill using the engine as a brake instead of riding the brakes down a hill.

Worn cable? |
so what your saying is when you have the shifter down in first gear and bump the shifter up to second it will stay in first gear until you let of the accelerator. Correct?
This can be a sign that your transmission is on its way out. What color is the fluid? My friends lt1 a4 started doing exactly what you described. Soon enough the car only had reverse.

exactly what i was thinking.... |

Its something with the transmission tune not allowing the valve body to change out of first to second when manually shifting, when you shift does it go to second at all or just bounce the limiter?

Problem lies in the driver, it is the symptom that was not explained.. |
