Woman tries jumping over t-top to switch drivers

Kentucky Women Attempts a Rolling Driver Swap and Fails
MOREHEAD, Ky. — A weekend crash that occurred as two people tried to switch who was driving a car has killed a woman in eastern Kentucky.

A report from the Fayette County Coroner's Office stated 20-year-old Kelita Nicole Hicks of Olive Hill died while undergoing surgery at University of Kentucky Hospital on Saturday morning.

Deputy Coroner John A. McCarty stated Hicks was sliding over the car's T-top and was outside the vehicle as it traveled Ky. 519 just north of Morehead at highway speed when her foot hit the steering wheel.

The car veered left and the other person, who was sliding into the passenger seat, grabbed it, turning it sharply right, throwing Hicks was from the car's roof and into a guardrail.

i remember seeing kids do that in middle school.

if only they let the smart genes survive then we would have a better world

DevilDougWS6 08-18-2010 07:42 PM

t-top car eh?

madness410 08-18-2010 07:58 PM

natural selection at its best.

if they were doing it on purpose to do something fun than they assumed the risk of that.

if they were doing it to save time, thats one less idiot on this planet. it takes less than 15 seconds to pull over and swap drivers.

maroman88 08-18-2010 08:03 PM

priceless

Yes Kentucky is full of fail when i was driving through it.

Blacdout96 08-19-2010 11:48 AM

Reminds me of the time my friend borrowed his cousin's camaro, and on the highway got into an arguement about the t-tops. He bet he could take his top off without stopping. He pulled the latch, pushed it up enough for air to get under it, and WOOSH!!! they said it flew into the air like a helicoptor blade, and smashed flush on the road...all this at 65+ mph. Needless to say he had to find a new t-top, and was banned from driving it lol.

TAdan 08-19-2010 01:12 PM

Wow, I guess Darwin strikes again.

LS1Hawk 08-19-2010 01:23 PM

Kentucky is full of fail, the people, the education, the plant for building the Corvette, everything from there has fail written all over it.

Frosty 08-19-2010 02:38 PM

What was wrong with the Corvette plant?

just some of the stuff there. like the one bridge we went over. it was maybe a half mile long. The problem was double lanes both sides goes down to this narrow little dorky bridge. single lane over the bridge but the bridge was so narrow our lane was half the size of a normal lane in nj. if a semi truck was coming the oncoming way you had to stop and let him try and pass

Nothing with the plant itself, just what they make there.

Frosty 08-19-2010 03:05 PM
