Video of it running when I get a new starter, I had the distributor 90* off and it kinda went backwards and demolished my starter.

Blacdout96 09-29-2010 10:42 AM

how much JB weld did you need to fix that hole in the side of the block? lol

bubba428 09-29-2010 01:49 PM

i got another block from jarhead. He botched something in the machine work though, and i have some kind of issue in the block. I'm going to try an electric fuel pump to see if it was the fuel pump arm. every thing on it is new so I don't know what the hell is knocking.

Frosty 09-29-2010 01:55 PM

DOOOOOOOOOOOMED even before liftoff :rofl::D

On a serious and compassionate note, hopefully it's something stupid.

bubba428 09-29-2010 02:06 PM

its coming from the area of the fuel pump, so hopefully I just forgot to tighten something. I'm going to try a different balancer, and I'm going to pull the front off again and see if its in the timing set. if that's not it my dad just got a Snap-On camera with an LED that I can stick inside to look at the crank

BonzoHansen 09-29-2010 02:34 PM

I have a fine runnng SBC for sale...just sayin'

Blacdout96 09-29-2010 03:42 PM

I wouldnt use jarhead anymore, I got a guy tat's 10X's better then him, and hes good with the pricing, so if jarhead f'ed it up good, get a new block and ill show you my guy.

BonzoHansen 09-29-2010 05:57 PM

I also have an uncut 4 bolt 350 sbc block. :)

bubba428 09-30-2010 02:01 PM

I'll let you both know what happens

Blacdout96 09-30-2010 02:19 PM

just food for thought, you said its a mechanical pump. did you put a spot of grease to prevent that little pin from sliding around when you put it on? IMO, I would just step up to a Holley inline fuel pump and run it at 7-9 PSI.
