Notorious for engine fires. I witnessed one.

grazi 03-04-2012 05:30 PM

I had the same one on my camaro. It started to rust too

drmrman 03-04-2012 06:04 PM

Looks awesome JIm, Do you know if your gonna paint it yet and what color

B4C 03-04-2012 07:29 PM

Keep it that color with the side mouldings! Giving me some motivation to work on my nova! Looks killer with the prostars. What size rear tires?

Lt1_8U 03-04-2012 08:06 PM

thanks guys! i will definitely lose the air cleaner! thanks for the heads up8-)

I'm going to keep it the original color, i looked at the color code and its autumn gold. the rear tires are mickey thompson ET streets they are 275 60 15's with a tiny spacer to bump them out a little bit. the backspacing is 5.5 on the back. I'm still unsure of the molding but i kind of like it.

drmrman 03-04-2012 08:26 PM

Done yet????!!!!!????

I used to hate the molding but it has grown on me. Just dont put bumper gaurds on it they are fugly. Still have that steering wheel, its not going anywhere so jsut lmk when you can pick it up

FYI Grant makes a replica comfortgrip for about $70. That's what I have.

Yes, key was on the dash.

I'd trade that any day of the week for the ability to get a good custom gauge cluster and fit a 5" speedo and tach.

Lt1_8U 03-05-2012 10:48 AM

That's true. I forgot about that. I always wanted to do a custom gauge set up but didn't want to spend the money lol

WBT: Hey, I hear you guys make custom gauge panels?
Vendor: Yeah, for all 68-74 GM Muscle cars and Corvettes.
WBT: Awesome. What's your pricing on a speedo/tach/4 gauge setup for a '68 Nova SS?
Vendor: We don't make panels for that car.
WBT: :bertstare:

I think Covan's does now though, but they probably fit like **** seeing as how John Covan bailed on his own business.
