2013 NJFBOA NCAA March Madness Pool!
 

Well, well, well! It's about that wonderful time of the year again! Your faithful commissioner is here to once again bring you 3 weeks of rage, entertainment, tears, comedy, curse words and glory!


We did a test run last year with a forum-wide March Madness pool and it was a fun 3 weeks of BS'ing and competing with our fellow club members.

We got to see wonderful things like MyFirstZ's generous donation in the first round, BlackbirdWS6's hustling characteristics being exposed (I will never believe that you got that far strictly picking by jersey colors & mascots. That's a suspicion I'm taking to the grave with me, Brian.) and of course the ever famous trash-talking Ls1ow providing us with the not-so-clutch and ever so ballsy Florida State championship pick:

It was actually a lot of fun, even with it being so small last year! My goal for this year's is to get more members involved, get the payouts higher, and share a lot more laughs with some new faces.




Breakdown:

• $20 buy in.
• Money due via PayPal Gift or cash.
• Buy in is due before Noon of March 21th.
• Payouts to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
• Yahoo! group will be made this week.

Your Mom's Box. I love the O&A reference.

Coming up with a good bracket name is the hardest part of these pools. I think the worst one I ever saw was like "Donation Bracket" or something like that. Just silly :mrgreen:

I thought the "Your Mom's Box" was a Ted (movie) reference. But I searched YouTube & he actually says "wife" not "mom." Guess it is Opie & Anthony after all!

This Sunday, the names & rankings will be made available to the public. When you see it in front of you, it will be very easy to understand. My girlfriend actually won first place last year, and she has zero interest in college basketball (meanwhile, I didn't fair as well :-? ...and I actually watch college hoops!!)


Teams are ranked from 1-16, (1 being the best).
Yahoo! shows you what percentage of people have selected in each given matchup.
There are always upsets throughout the tournament though--Which puts the "Madness" in March Madness. When in doubt, it's best to go with your gut.

Here's an example of what a filled out bracket will look like--Notice the numbers next to each teams names? Those are their rankings (aka "seeding")

And just keep in mind that small upsets happen (like an 8 seed losing to a 9 seed) with some regularity and big upsets (like a 3 seed losing to an 11 seed) are more rare but still happen.
