My next car

I've decided I want a decommissioned Caprice cop car, which is basically an SS with cool cop stuff added. I've seen em on EBay for 8-12 grand. Man the fun I'm gonna have with ricers...:D

WildBillyT 11-30-2017 03:40 PM

8-12 for a decent PPV? Or are they kinda beat to ****? I don't think I've seen them in use by anybody except the NJSP.

qwikz28 11-30-2017 03:58 PM

Parts are really hard to find on those. As are center consoles, but there's a wealth of knowledge if you know where to look on swapping in parts from a G8 or SS.

Please don't put Holden badges on it and claim it's a Holden. Keep it the badass chevy that it is. I have a south Brunswick caprice police car that we bought at an auction.

There is a place in Chicago that has some decent ones

No Holden badges. Only thing it might get is a flat black paint job

ThoR294 11-30-2017 05:45 PM

Too much $$$.

Most towns by me have them. Most are unmarked, some are even a nice grey color lol

There was a grey one on EBay recently.

I have been driving a 2011 Chevy Carpice PPV for 5+ years now and I actually am currently writing this reply while sitting in one.

Great car, my co-workers think it looks like a space-ship compared to the Dodge chargers, but I like it. It has some power and this one has 101,000 miles on it. Some of my co workers think it the drivers seat area is too narrow so they don't want to use it, but I have no complaints. This one has eaten 4 camshafts over the years, but I don't think that this is a common occurrence across all caprice ppv's.

It handles well, is responsive, but sometimes at "pursuit type speeds" the handling can get a little sketchy

I've been eyeing up these and caprices as commuter cars for lulz. They can be found real cheap on craigslist but you don't know how beat to **** they are. Best bet is to find a detective's caprice, usually real clean and some had full interiors!

Just saw this pop up from Facebook:

I've looked into it. Check autotrader, there used to be a lot in PA that had a few.

funny, I just bought a 2010 Hemi Charger Police Car off of govdeals.com. 70k miles. no mechanical issues at all, just had the antenna holes filled and roof painted. Looking for a leather interior and then shes done.

We average 1 a week at NJSP. When it happens we install new L77 crate engines. That's how I picked up a 72,000 mile L77 with a lifter tap for the $600 core charge.

I need one of these for my commute down Route 17. I imagine everyone gets out of your way in the left lane.

sometimes, it is quite the opposite. people end up freaking out and get nervous, and don't move over. instead they slow down to 10 mph below the speed limit and they don't realize that all you want to do, is freaking get past them.

When I rise to power, those people will be sterilized.

Come and see the violence inherent in the system. Help! Help! I'm being repressed!
