I saw your link in Camaroz28.com and had a few questions.
Are you looking to attract cars from outside of the East Coast as well? There are a lot of F-Body owners and racers here in the Detroit area and we might be interested in attending if we can get some more details on your event.
How many cars do you typically get for your events? And what level of competition do you normally attract? Stock? Bolt-ons? N/A? nitrous? blown/turbo?
We've got a pretty good mix of street legal racers here from 9-14's and it'd help if we could get a feel for the number of participants and level of competition to determine if it's worth the trip in from the Midwest. or not.
Thanks.

we are workign towards getting 300+ cars to participate in all catagories. we wold be happy to ge cars from all over teh country if anyoen woudl liek to make teh drive.
the typical car that our heads up class is intended to attract would be a 9-10second car with the above described street gear.
since this is teh first year that we are runnign this event in a while i am not sure how many cars we will see is the heads up class. hopefully we will get at least 16 cars to participate and have a variety of combos to watch. i know that there are a few n/a guys, at least 1 nice blower car, a bucnh of nitrous guys, and some turbo cars interested. it is all a matter of who can make teh trip.
we have already started contacting magazines and potential sponsors. so we can count on teh appeal of the class expanding once we get some prizes set up.
best advice would be to keep an eye on the forum from time to time and see how ti develops. we already have a deal at a local hotel if you guys decide to travel. :)

i dont think the power adders should be an issue, i jsut think that to keep the heads up/streetability thing i think the cars should be inspected in their respective state, thats just my opinion. if not no big deal my car will be competitive still at the time.

jrsfast84 02-14-2005 03:42 PM

rule ?'s

so does your car have to be street legal, insured, registered, and could you trailer your car in,to race on that day.if so some people mit not kmow that.

NJSPEEDER 02-14-2005 03:45 PM

we decided to drop the registration thing cause there are so many people in teh same situation as you that would be caught on the other side of only that rule. trailering the car in is fine.

mufflers

for the heads up class, mufflers or no mufflers, it wasn't mentioned in the rules.just wondering, thanks.

camaroracer1992 02-15-2005 10:28 AM

im pretty sure its a full exhaust system, i also asked tim that question and he stated mufflers :( . youre from easton? im from hatfield we're not too far apart location wise. you run at the grove?

Tru2Chevy 02-15-2005 10:41 AM

Yes, all vehicles must have mufflers, and no open cutouts are allowed on the track for this event.

I updated the rules - sorry about forgetting it earlier.

jrsfast84 02-15-2005 02:21 PM

yes i run at the grove, and another ? toward the rules, you say all electronics, what delay box is ok, throttle stops use delay boxes, that wouldn't be right to have in a heads up class,if the delay box is a MSD-digitial 6 or 7, thats for timing, then ok.just want make sure the rules are ok so theres no problems.sorry to be the pest about some of the rules but just trying to help. Thanks.JR.

JPSartre12 02-16-2005 05:04 PM

300+ sounds good. I'll post your link on Motown Muscle Forum and see if we can get some interest in a Motown Caravan. With a little prodding, we might be able to "represent" in the Head's Up and other classes.

NJSPEEDER 02-16-2005 07:42 PM

JPSartre12-thanks for getting teh word out on teh motown forum. hopefully the crowds will roll into rural north jersey and shake things up a bit :D

jrsfast84-i was jsut refering to whatever types of things people wanted to run. we aren't gonna restrict electronics or stops, if someone wants to use a stop for their burn out they can.

thanks guys, keep circulating the word!!!!

A lot of the Motown Muscle guys have never been to the Jersey Shore. Since I was raised in S. Jersey, I'm trying to educate them on the finer points of beach life. This would be a great opportunity to do some racing and beach bumming.

NJSPEEDER 02-19-2005 08:00 PM

you can explain it to them all you want, but they will never truely understand what it means to be from jersey :D
thanks for getting the word out. hopefully these guys will come down and play with us, we may scare them a little, but i can assure you they will have fun.
:p

i really don't think there scared but, maybe they are, well if they show up we'll all have a good time racing or watching; thats what its all about. so come on up, join us.

WS6TransAm01 02-24-2005 05:44 PM

Very Tempting.....

can we have an All motor heads up class? ;)

NJSPEEDER 02-24-2005 05:51 PM

if we had space....
that was actually one of teh possibel answers i was lookin at in the begining. depending on what kind of participation numbers we see this year we may try splitting heads up next year. teh more cars we have in general the more classes we can justify in teh future :hint: :hint: (tell all your friends) hehe
