Any parameter you want from the PCM with user set high alarms, 0-60 1/4 mile calculator thing, and a plug in for rear view camera.

I have it set to show trans temp, rpm, boost, IAT, and engine temp. You can show up to 8 parameters I think on the screen. Touch screen too

Blackbirdws6 08-26-2012 06:19 PM

Do want all the touchscreen things!

sweetbmxrider 08-26-2012 06:42 PM

Pretty awesome man

KirkEvil 08-26-2012 10:28 PM

So what did 0-60 and 1/4 mile say?

LTb1ow 08-27-2012 07:05 AM

Have yet to try it, coming home Saturday night I got stuck next to a cop on 36 and then yesterday had a bed full of guns.

You should get a pyrometer. See how close you get to melting that turbo

Thanks Curt for hooking me up with this lil gadget. Saw 22psi last night coming home

Gotta get the EGT probe tapped in the manifold and then I am good to go.

RIF.

And in other news, I may have a bad injector. FML.

wretched73 08-27-2012 06:22 PM

Ah, speed read the thread. Can your injectors be rebuilt?

LTb1ow 08-27-2012 07:29 PM

Maybe, new one is 350 area. Its not bad now, but the balance rate is getting close to borderline at parked idle.

LTb1ow 08-27-2012 09:46 PM

Cracked out on stimulants late night install.

Simple install ftw

Blackbirdws6 08-27-2012 10:04 PM

Needs moar power level.

LTb1ow 08-27-2012 10:07 PM

That isn't really meaning anything, if I get EFIlive, you can switch between tunes with this versus having a switch.

I just have a single tune loaded, so if I want to switch I have to pull fuses and load tune etc. Maybe in the future, really no sense in it unless I get a built trans.

Blackbirdws6 08-27-2012 10:16 PM

I thought they sold tuning things to switch tunes on the fly?

Que?

If you buy a multiple tune custom setup through EFIlive, then yes, you wire in a 5 position switch and you can switch through tunes on the fly. This monitor allows you to do that without wiring in a switch and does it through the data bus.

You can run a canned multiple tune through Edge, and then you would be able to select 1, 2,3, etc tune. EFIlive would be the best option, but, either way I have more than enough power to destroy the stock transmission.

Blackbirdws6 08-27-2012 10:21 PM

Got it. Just getting educated.

LTb1ow 08-27-2012 10:24 PM

Yea, if you were planning on having the trans built, EFIlive is the way to go. Its "custom-ish" in the sense that its tailored to the mods you have done vs the PPE tuner which is made for a stock truck.

An EFIlive setup can give you an economy, light tow, heavy tow, medium power, and all out power tunes.. all on the same PCM and if you have a monitor like this, you can switch em on the fly. IE.. ricer next to you, economy tune -> kill tune

1994lt1 09-04-2012 10:21 AM

Nice truck I love this year. Question though: What does built trans actually entail? My dad has an 04.5 Duramax and we definitely noticed some slipping between shifts after we installed the big tune. We have since uninstalled it because even on a lesser setting it slipped when towing. I'm guessing this is common for this year with a stock trans?

LTb1ow 09-04-2012 11:46 AM

Yea, all the 5 and 6 speeds A1000 trans can't hold much past 400rwhp. I would highly recommend removing the tune when you tow, it adds a ton of stress to the clutches and once you slip it once, its on its way out.

A rebuild is like any other auto trans rebuild, new clutches, upgrade to a triple disc converter and upgraded servos/valves. The also fix the pump rub issue with causes the transfer cause fluid to leak out over time and when you shift into 4x4 it dies on you. Usually will cost you ~$4-5k installed, check out Mike L @ Inglewoods trans, or George @ Big Dipper. The latter is in MD so not a huge drive and you avoid shipping a 300# trans.

sweetbmxrider 11-12-2014 07:32 PM
