1979 WS6 TA
Here's a little info on my 1979 TA that I picked up in 2013
As purchased: A fresh 455 CID / 4-speed / 3.73 rear / T-tops Since then I have: Installed Global West rear springs Installed Poly frame bushings Upgrade the transmission to a TKO600 with .82 OD Installed 3.08 gears to compliment the TKO ratios Fabricated and installed frame connectors and tube braces in the front Replaced the stock gauges with Speedhut Revolution units Installed Corbeau Front Seats Upgraded to FI Tech fuel injection Paint is next on the list I'll have to find some smaller pictures to post JT |
What color do you plan to paint it?

Got any pics of it ?
The GM of my dealership has a 79 and its a beauty. Since im the Fbody guy he leaves me responsible for getting all the parts and finding whatever he needs for it. Its been a fun little project. Looking forward to seeing yours ! |

The color is and will remain silver.
I recently painted the AMC Spirit I bracket race Switchblade Silver; a late GM silver >>>> the TA will get the same. It has black deluxe interior except for the front seats I swapped out for the Corbeaus Sorry about the lack of pics. Need to make a Photobucket I guess. JT |
Ahh! Photo upload worked this time >>> more to come

The silver is sweet. I like the speedhuts too

Thanks; the gauges were a ton of work, but well worth it.
Only the Tach and Fuel gauges worked when I got it. It had the three little gauges that fit under the radio and of them only the oil pressure gauge worked. I converted the directional indicators to LEDs and fabricated lenses out of a thick green plastic plate from the dollar store to fit in the triangle opening in the bezel. I wish I had better pictures of the modified shaker scoop that I had to fabricate to fit the FI Tech unit. The base would not fit the throttle body. Going to FI is the biggest improvement on the car yet. JT |
