lets figure this out... vacuum and brake question

I have a G-body with an LSX swap 5.3 LM7 cam is 232/234 .595/.598 and 110LSA with 243 ported/polished heads, but its carbed , car has terrible vacuum... brakes sucked had to get a vacuum canister and pump.

my 01 SS is LS1 car, is fuel injected but has a 242/248 .608/.612 w/ 110LSA has great vacuum and brakes...

only asking cause i might be taking this monte apart and was trying to figure this out.

I would try to put the 243 heads on the camaro and take it track.... figure out the brake situation another day.

Are the brakes only bad at idle/ cruise down? Is idle consistent and where is you your idle rpm and base timing sitting?
