Englishtown swap meet 2018, WOW!

So I went yesterday, BIG changes! The far end of the race track and 2/3s of the pit looks to be sold to the Airport, so you cannot park in the back lot and access the pit side.

The vendors that had those spots were relocated to the grass parking lot across from the spectators lot.

Was still about the same number of vendors and same amount of non automotive crap :sigh:

We were talking to some vendors and apparently in the Fall, they are going to cut the pit side spots a lot more (maybe even close the whole side). And just have the spectators side and the grass lot. The grass lot has gravel-ish aisles, pretty rough going for the bicycle crowd :) I walk, so no issues for me.

End of an Era indeed!

im not going , im no longer supporting them. i understand making fiscal based decisions but when you are involved in a community for that long you need to consider other things as well....

living 5 mins from there the new issues are going to be street racing and the 18 wheeler car haulers blasting thru town + the classy people that insurance auctions bring lol

you live near me too so im sure you understand lol

Sad. I got lucky 3 years ago with good stuff but every other home it's a bust. Especially now with no more drag racing I'm not going

10 years ago, it was actually fun. It was almost the only place to get the harbor freight stuff before they opened stores all around here.

I think it was 5 years ago, when we were vending, the person next to us was selling pallets of mixed screws and bolts, and the other nearby was selling boxes of misc unsorted plumbing parts.

Not to mention most of the lookers that thought free was too expensive .... not worth the hassle, and seemed to gradually get worse after that.

The SM will quickly become less popular and it will be gone in a few years - having gone since the early 90s, it certainly has gone downhill in the last 10 years.
