Portapotties worked just fine by the staging lanes haha

Featherburner 02-14-2013 01:40 PM

I hope you can drive around the water with a street tire!

Sprayed 99 02-17-2013 07:36 PM

Looks much better. About time

Yeah, That was the main reason for NOT racing here. I cannot believe that by just spinning your tires that all the water comes off. What about the water that clings to the inside of your fenderwell and drips down during staging?

Dudbird113 02-17-2013 10:07 PM

Thats why ur supposed to basically crawl through the puddle and not speed through it. That and do and nasty burnout and should be good

What dries your front tires?

Nasty burnout on street tires is just plain dumb.

Dudbird113 02-17-2013 11:15 PM

... Good point. They could do it like other places where u back into it then drive out. But for wat 25 bucks or so and u sometimes get a **** load of runs in i dnt care. Could go to etown sit in line for a long time and pay fourty bucks to get a couple in n just be miserable.

The water has never been an issue for myself or any of the people who do the track rentals.

Cept for that blue pontiac on street tires

No problems here. That blue Pontiac doesn't make enough power to spin the tires even when wet!

Usually you can drive around water, and back into it

Dudbird113 02-18-2013 02:36 PM

Atco could borrow some illegals from the closest car wash. Theyll towell ur front fire to perfection lol

I was only making the point that it really doesn't matter if "water is dripping off your inner fenders" or "if you do a massive burnout" on your street tires

elle 02-19-2013 07:22 AM

Gotcha

AintQik 02-19-2013 09:38 AM

I hated driving thru that water at Atco. The good news is I discovered that with INVOs they hooked better when hot. Didn't make any sense to me, but after a stupid burnout they hooked way better.

I have always found it depends on the situation.

Some guys have all-season 600 treadwear rocks on their car and do huge smokies only to find "they get greasy".

Other guys have 3 season gumball tires and can hook better when the tires are hot.

People bang the "no sense in doing a street tire burnout" all they want but there are times when it works. My brother used to cut 1.9x 60' times on 245/50/16 all seasons in his lid/exhaust '99 T/A.

I just heard that Atco has let most of all the original employees go. Bud from the speed shop was one of them.

I thought Bud owned the speed shop??

elle 02-21-2013 02:23 PM

Nope. He ran it for Joe.

sweetbmxrider 03-03-2013 07:57 PM

They just knocked the stuff down, kinda weird without the burnout wall but its much better. Ain't even miss the other tower.

shepss217 03-04-2013 06:24 AM

i liked the wall, but anyone running street tires i can see why you would want it gone, the tower should have been gone a long time ago

sweetbmxrider 03-04-2013 07:15 AM

You still can't go around the waterbox as far as I could tell.
