180,000 mile LS1 Test & Tune

Last Friday I rolled over 180,000 miles in my car, marking my 100,000th mile of ownership. It's been a daily driver for the past 7 years, but on Saturday I finally picked up another car and retired it to weekend/track duty. I don't do much drag, mainly looking to get back into autox and hopefully some hpde.

Despite being FILTHY from sitting under a tree all weekend, I took it to the track to see what it would run 100% untouched from how I've been driving it so that I have a baseline. I'm in the right lane.

80% of it is probably the driver, 10% is probably the 7+ year old Sumi's that I bought used and then put 45,000+ miles on already, and the last 10% is the tune that I never completely finished. I just couldn't launch it.

Specs:
-180,000 untouched engine
-Lid/ported TB/LS6 Intake
-Longtubes/Catted Y/Magnaflow
-T56 swap, 3.42 gears
-Bilsteins, PHB, Swaybars, 1le LCA bushings

eBay headers right? In a full weight car, in the middle of June, on crap tires, on a self-made DD tune? Yeah, I'd say that 180K motor is doing just fine for itself!

Great news, Keith! And I'm sure some of it has to do with more experience & the track you're on, but I still have the videos of you & Josh at Island up on my YouTube account. You haven't changed much since September of last year right? I think last time out you were running in the neighborhood of 14.6X @ 104... But I'm sure you have the timeslips somewhere

Glad ya had a good time, and that the NBM still has plenty of juice in her!

Work on that launch a bit and you will go well into the 12's with that trap speed.

Thanks guys! Last time at Island I did 13.6@107 with a better (2.2) 60' time, so I think the age of the tires is a contributing factor. They're getting replaced soon anyway so we'll see.

My rear brakes were glazed to begin with, but really cooked last night. They were already screeching but now on turns the outside wheel makes a nice scraping sound, which I believe may be due to worn c clips.
