Name that muffler!

So dad has no idea what muffler he had put on the car, and it's been bugging me all along. It says made in Mexico.

Not that it really matters but it's got a high flow cat too.

Two videos I have of it. Old but it sounds basically the same.

Are they made in Mexico though? And that's what I think it sounds like.

Hooker = flange.

Green_Phoenix_LT1 10-28-2010 10:23 PM

Hooker Aerochamber. Looks exactly like mine.

Mine was used and flanges were not used. This wasn't a new muffler ir he would know what it was.

It was new in 2001 when it was put on.

The Fixer 10-29-2010 12:02 AM

Sounds and looks like it could be an Aerochamber. I have two under my car that look almost exactly the same.

BigAls87Z28 10-29-2010 12:50 AM

Midas has/had a range of mufflers that looked like that, Ravens. They werent that bad.

Slow-V6 10-29-2010 01:43 PM

CHRIS67 10-29-2010 02:13 PM

Thats what I was thinking. Flowmaster. It sounds a little to loud to be a Hooker catback if you have no headers on your car..

I still say Aerochamber - here's one on my car. The welds on the sides of the case and seams look pretty similar.

I tend to agree with you Steve as I had the same exhaust as you on my monte ss

Saw an Aerochamber in person today, I definitely dont think its a Hooker muffler. Im not sure Nick, who cares? Haha

Anti_Rice_Guy 11-01-2010 08:28 PM

I want to know what's on the car, that's why. I remember dad had originally said he thought it might be a Continental muffler?

Post a side shot of the case if you can.

Anti_Rice_Guy 11-01-2010 10:04 PM

I'll try and do it tomorrow when I get home from school.

1994lt1 11-01-2010 10:20 PM

Continental made Mufflers? The car does have a unique sound to it however.

Raist103 11-04-2010 08:49 AM
