Complete interior swap

From LS1 tech.com i posted up to date info on my swap. here it is compiled to one post:

Started out with tan camel **** interior. Sold EVERYTHING except the door panels. It is not complete yet but the big stuff is done.

Middle:

lol, empty interior -no pics-

painted the door panels with duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint. first they were cleaned thoroughly, then coated with adhesion promoter, then laid on the color. they came out surprisingly well, and the soft vinyl wont crack when you push on it. pretty good paint.

carpet is in. doors painted. waiting for seatbelts so i can put up the headliner and finish installing the plastics.

Complete:

The black looks nice.

I really liked the tan also....

V 10-22-2008 07:59 PM

i was gonna say, the tan looked pretty good, great with a professional cleaning probably.

but i also like the ebony, hence why i bought my SS with it new as a requirement

sweetbmxrider 10-22-2008 10:09 PM

i like the trans am tan better than the camaro's. got the seats, carpet, and ls1 color code door panels, just need your plastics doug! one of these days, DON"T CHUCK EM!

DevilDougWS6 10-23-2008 08:40 PM

yeah you better come get these things!

still waiting for my silver gauge faces to arrive. got my chrome vent rings, just gotta put them in then ill take some more pictures.

also toying with the idea of a custom self built rear seat delete/sub enclosure. while keeping it lightweight. something that looks nice but isnt over the top. maybe two subs or something.

i always wanted to do that, but i do like having room to chuck crap too. if you come across anything, let me know. i just mounted my cap on the rear hump and amp above it where the back of the rear seats rested. looks pretty good. subs are up on the rear deck. maybe i'll take a pic

haha, forgot about that. it resides in my truck now. lol nothing says "back the ***** up or Ill kill you!" like an 8inch blade that you know how to use.

98CamaroSS 10-24-2008 10:13 PM

Did you paint the seats also?

CivicEaterLT1 10-25-2008 11:17 PM

i want leather seats for mine lol. tired of cloth

DevilDougWS6 10-27-2008 03:42 PM

did anyone actually read the work that i did?

sold old t/a seats, got new black ones. painted door panels, replaced carpet, plastics, headliner, etc.

Teds89IROC 10-28-2008 06:52 PM

looks good man, I swapped the interior in the iroc too. Same thing, started off with tan interior (it was shot) and converted it to black/charcoal/grey. Seats, carpet, door panels, plastics, headliner etc etc

TurboDiverArt 11-03-2008 05:04 AM

Very nice!

FIcamaroRE92 11-06-2008 10:40 AM

looks nice, I eventually want to do that with my ugly red interior lol.

sweetbmxrider 03-28-2009 08:41 PM

hey doug, i have found that the dupli color vinyl paint in flat black looks great on the interior plastics. i started out doing my shift plate area and now i have half the dash plastics done.

DevilDougWS6 03-28-2009 09:06 PM

thats what i used. it stays flexible on vinyl soft surfaces. that stuff would be great for seats.
