Feb 2012 Meet Possibility

Ok let’s talk February meet. February = north meet. The weather will likely be less conducive to bringing cars out. So Brian (Blackbirdws6) had a good idea. Let’s go go-karting at V-17 in Maywood.

Where: http://v-17.com/
87 Route 17 North, Maywood, NJ 07607
Map: http://v-17.com/img/map-th.png

It will be one of these two days:
#1: Sunday 2/26
#2: Sunday 2/19

Trying to formally reserve space will be expensive and require a good amount of financial commitments to get it scheduled. So we’d go during an open public time. It was advised that we arrive as close to 1PM as possible to make sure we get on the track easily. We’d meet there at 12:30 and go in as soon as they open the track at 1 pm so there are less people around

Cost
STANDARD GO KARTING - $14.99 per race
** for all ages -57" minimum height
** save time, no registration on arrival, no paperwork, race tickets are usable by everyone in your party.
** price buster-buy 10 races get 11
HIGH PERFORMANCE KARTING -$25.00 per race
**2 races for $45.00
**3 races for $60.00
** DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED
Races are roughly 7 min long. The time is pretty good as most people’s arms are exhausted by the end if they are really manhandling the cars. They have food on the premises and the pricing was reasonable (read: not $20 for a burger, $10 for a hot dog etc).

And there is an arcade and lazer tag for those so inclined, and Jungle Jerrys Safari and the BounceArama for the kids.

What do you think? Vote in the poll. If enough people commit to going then we will make this the February meet.

Will this be a meet in which a certain amount need to confirm for it to actually happen, and or, will it need to be a pay in advance type deal?

BonzoHansen 12-21-2011 09:37 PM

If enough people commit to going then this is it. No $$ in advance. Just gotta wait a week for the results/decision.

WildBillyT 12-21-2011 09:39 PM

Any rules about blue turtle shells? LOL

sweetbmxrider 12-21-2011 10:12 PM

I'll beat you all. At Funplex over the summer I pulled the pit maneuver on one of the girls I went with on lap 2 .
Being skinny has it's advantages!

Bring it. 9/10 most people overdrive these cars. Last time out, I was the quickest but likely the heaviest of my group.

Skinny = more top speed/better handling (if you can drive). Better weight distribution.

Pit manuevering girls in go-karts does not mean you can drive fast. The logic is sound but it just didn't play out that way on two separate occasions at this place.

Just shows I take no prisoners  I lapped everyone else on the track, even my friend who can drive but is heavier.

And for the record I didn't edit your post, I just hit edit instead of quote by accident
