I know alot about this stuff and have installed them before but i have to ask this question (its making me feel like an idiot cause i cant figure it out)

my buddy has a cat5 cable running from his cameras dvr to a tv (where it goes into a coaxial input.

how is this possible, what adapter do you need to convert it.

im in a brain fart lol

cause we were talking about how its setup and everything

It's doing video out from the Camera out of the RJ45 port?

I believe you can run video over Cat5/6 with the RJ45-->Coax ends, but if it isn't putting video out of the RJ45 port, then it isn't going to work

VGA to cat5 then run the cat 5 to wherever its going then cat 5 to bnc to coax to the tv...
