different TPI sensors

is there a difference in sensors on a 305 vs 350 tuned port system? the new computer has made the car run better but still not all there.

The injectors, chip, ESC module, and knock sensor are all different for 305 vs. 350. Hope that helps ya!

wheres the esc and knock sensor located? if its not on the TPI system itself then it would be from my stock tbi motor

The knock sensor is located near the bottom of the engine block (above the oil pan), on the right side. The ESC module is that large, flat 7-pin connector mounted on the firewall. It's part of the ECM harness.

hey, if you need a 305 ESC and knock sensor, (since i think the ESC you have should be from that 350 setup) i'll just give you the 305 sensors i have.

Can someone explain to me the difference between the ESC sensors? Is there only a difference between a TBI and a TPI or are the 5.0 and 5.7 TPI ESC's different? I never changed mine when I went with the bigger engine and wonder if that's why Prevo and I have had such a hard time tuning the car? :?

this is from tpiparts.net

Electronic Spark Control module is repsonsible for monitoring the knock sensor output. It determines when knock is present so that the ECM can pull back on spark advance. This module is specific to engine size. In other words, a 350 module is different from a 305 module.

Ok but how are they different? Knock is knock. Does it look for a different frequency or what? I never changed it when I went from my 305 to 383....could it be killing power?

Paul, I'd imagine a 4" bore is gonna have a different "knock" frequency than the smaller bore of the 305. It could be part of the problem you guys are having. If so, I'll have to remember to change it when I build my 350!
