Cruze Towing

After loading my truck up with camping gear, and wishing I could fit it in my cruze, realized technically I could tow with the cruze.

Does anyone have experience with the lightweight utility trailers from HF or TSC? Car is limited to 1000lb, but my gear is bulky vs heavy.

Search garagejournal.com, the HF trailer gets a lot of praise there. Tons of tips on how to make small improvements to the trailer as well

On a side note, the HF trailers are available now again after being taken off the shelves for over a year I think it was. There was an issue with the tires not meeting DOT standards or something like that. But that has since been corrected and fixed.

I have the HF 1750lb. capacity trailer. I tow it to Maine every year for vacation. I installed 2x4 stake pockets from McMaster and built removable sides. It tows well at highway speeds. I also bought the spare tire mount and tire. My only complaint is the powder coating. It starts out red but after a few years, it turns a very manly pink!

This is good stuff, may seriously look into a hitch and trailer setup

Although may start with the gear rack option first

I'd lean more towards a trailer.

You + wife + 2 dogs + 10k in camping equip = squatted cruze
