Door Switch

2006 Hummer H3
Drivers door switch not registering (not turning off radio, not turning on interior lights, not recognizing the door is open), switch itself is good, i swapped it to another door and works there, switch is getting power verified voltage with meter, traced wires, tried grounding separately, tried providing another power source, nada.
last ditch effort i pulled the battery and the harness to the BCM, nada.
I'm stumped, any ideas??

What does it touch to complete circuit? Maybe that is missing or out of position?

I know on BMW our latches assemblies are notorious for failing, if not latch I have seen shorts in the harness that goes from the a pillar into the doors themselves.

attached a pic of the door switch. surface it touches doesnt matter as its i guess an internal open/closed switch. and the switch works. i guess i have to trace those wires all the way to the BCM in the passenger kickplate

The driver door module controls it.

i cant find any info on a driver door control module for an H3

Ah, thought it was an h2. The black/white wire of the switch goes to ground. See if it has ground with the switch open or unplugged. The gray/black is the signal wire to the bcm. I would check on the passenger side as to what signal is sent on this wire. I would assume ground but its early and I could be dumb. If both of these are correct, ohm the wire from the bcm input to the door switch. It should be the black connector, c1, and I think the pin is A32.

traced the positive wire to the BCM, was a tiny break in the wire behind the drivers kick panel. repaired the wire and good to go. thanks for the help.
