95 Bose Stereo Upgrade

Trying to get my head around the Bose stuff in car. According to crutchfield all the speakers (front, center, rear) are the same and the center is the only difference between bose and non bose setups.

If I replace all three sets of speakers, is it worth sticking with the Bose setup at all at that point?

Current HU is a Alpine CDA-7893 and was thinking of just running new wire and sticking with front/rear for now. Potentially adding a sub later.

Stereo stuff is confusing. :bertstare:

Why not just run the back seat and hatch speakers on the rear channel from the head unit? You would use all the speakers. DMX does appreciate a sub but you will need to get an amp to run it.

On another members 95z, I ran new wire from the head unit to the door and sail panels, and used full range two way 6.5" speakers. Then put a stealth box in the hatch to replace the factory sub.

Bose speakers are independently amped and its easier to just run new wire. Surprised yours still work and didnt go buzzing randomly like others.

Its two in the door, two in the sail, and one in the driver hatch. I have the unit needed to retain factory bose "sub" if you want. I think the 6.5"s with the aftermarket head unit would be a big enough improvement, you can always add a sub later though.

So buy two pair of speakers and run em off head unit?
