What's everybody's thoughts on the No Prep stuff?

Was stuck at home due to illness and decided to binge some of it.

Granted, a lot of the "TV production" stuff is pretty hokey, as was a lot of the "drama" on the Street Outlaws series to begin with, but I gotta say I kind of like watching the no prep series.

I guess it's the variability in it all- the NHRA seemed to turn in to robots racing tube chassis stuff on perfect surfaces and the No Prep show has all different cars, drivers, etc. More of a tuner's game.

Anybody else on here watch it?

The variability of the racing and variety of cars is appealing. I've never been to an event but they seem to be popular these days and garner some large cash payouts. Like I'm sure most of us can agree, being there is always better than on the TV. Watching a funny car or top fuel dragster in person will always have more appeal to me than anything else.

From the comfort of my couch, no prep is def fun.

Much more exciting to watch than the same "teams" compete against each other.

It’s kinda mehh to me at this point. I don’t even like the regular street outlaws anymore other than what Farm Truck & Asian are doing.

The early seasons were much better I think. when the cars were still mostly cars and proportioned as so.. Not a tube chassis with a 1/4 panel and roof. It takes the relatable element out of it

I would love to rent and airport and host a no prep cash days. Nuttymoneyracing in NY is hosting an event in May. Im gonna try to go to see what it’s all about. Not a big fan of street racing because I think it’s a little to dangerous, you can’t rely on other people to have common sense. No prep = organized chaos. I like that.

I wanted to go to the No Prep kings event that was at Maple Grove in 2018 but I could not get time-off approved at work. bummer. would have loved to go see it live. I do watch the show. I dislike the production drama but cant help be in awe of the bad-ass wicked cars that are throwing down awesome runs.

I have always been a big fan of NHRA PRO-MODS but not a fan of pro-stock. love the totally insane unpredictable blower nitrous and turbo cars in pro-mod, and to see these guys doing "similar" stuff is just awesome. I grew up tagging along with my uncle who raced a bunch of bracket car stuff and pro mods were different back then. When we would go to a big NHRA event and everyone in the stands would walk away after nitro cars ran, we would hoot and holler at the crazy pro mods. pro mods were/are hardly ever on tv, and even now a days only get a 30 minute show at off-time hours per event. this no prep kings is a "tamer" version of pro-mod action and its on tv much more frequently, so I can’t help but like it. I remember before roadkill and the other internet media coverage, reading about hot rod drag week and Larry lesson when he had the steel Nova (same color scheme as the truck) and thinking how cool and impressive it was. The no prep show coverage on mainstream tv is great but I also get action from some
Good YouTube channels too

no to the drama but
yes to seeing the cars and races

I'm kinda "meh" to it, it makes for nice background noise so I'll leave it on while I'm cooking. However, my daughter LOVES the cars so that occupies her attention for a bit.
