Turn Signals {NEED HELP}

Okay, so my Turn Signal lights do not work; my hazards are still working. I replaced the turn signal bulbs and the turn signal relay (located on the drivers side, underneath the steering column) and the problem still persisted. I took a quick look at the wires and didn't see any loose wires.
What should I do?
Do you think i have to disassemble the steering wheel and change the coil assembly?

Need help ASAP

does ur signal lever click when u put ur signal on? wat kind of bulbs do u have? any leds?

Jam 08-19-2008 11:42 PM

new stock bulbs (no LEDs) my signal lever does click ..but it barely clicks when i push it down ..

Sounds like the turn signal switch is starting to go. They're only like Twenty or Thirty dollars.

Slo86Bird 08-20-2008 12:15 AM

try a relay first. or even a fuse.

Jam 08-20-2008 12:19 AM

should i try replacing the coil?

Slo86Bird 08-20-2008 08:41 AM

check ur fuses, then relays if all checks out, idk. haha

Jam 08-20-2008 03:15 PM

lol ***** where are the electrical geeks when you need em.

Tru2Chevy 08-20-2008 04:38 PM

How do the bulb sockets look? They could be causing the trouble too.

the hazards work and the blinkers don't? you replaced the correct relay? try switching the relays for the hazards and turn signals. also check fuse number 2. i think your multifunction switch, the blinker lever, is bad.

Jam 08-20-2008 10:00 PM

i'll check the fuze number 2 . but the light bulb sockets are fine and the bulbs are fine too. and I replaced the correct relay.

sweetbmxrider 08-20-2008 11:05 PM

well if the fuse is good and you are confident with the relay, i would say its the multifunction switch.

Jam 08-20-2008 11:32 PM

i have at least 3 interested buyers for my car.. I NEED TO FIX THIS lol

88IrocVert 08-21-2008 07:19 AM

Could have gotten a bad realy. I would switch them and give a try.

Jam 08-21-2008 11:19 AM

alright just making sure... there's only one relay for both hazards and turn signals right?

sweetbmxrider 08-21-2008 03:02 PM

there is one relay for each of them. so two relays. the turn signal relay is down and to the right of the steering wheel, closer to the radio/console area. the hazards is down and to the left of the steering wheel, closer to your door. now riddle me this, did you eff up???

Jam 08-21-2008 03:53 PM

I replaced the flasher asm. hazard relay. which is right next to the horn and alarm relay. where is the turn signal relay then if its somewhere else.

sweetbmxrider 08-21-2008 04:21 PM

i put my hand on the plastic guard above the gas pedal and can feel the flasher clicking over there. its like at the bottom of the trim panel under the steering wheel. kinda where the diagnostic port is. i could be wrong but i doubt it.

Jam 08-21-2008 04:22 PM

i'll check now . is it under the diagnostic port?

Jam 08-22-2008 11:36 AM

where is it ?

sweetbmxrider 08-22-2008 03:07 PM

it should be above the diagnostic port in that general area. if i had a wrench at my house, i would drop it and look. maybe someone knows better? when i put my blinker on, i feel the relay clicking over there.

Jam 08-22-2008 04:15 PM

theres just wires over there

Jam 08-22-2008 05:32 PM

okay so I fixed it. No, there is only one relay for both turn signal and hazards. and the problem was a blown fuse. I didn't know I had to check both sides of the fuse with the test light . but thanks everyone for your help and input.

Jam 08-22-2008 05:37 PM

and ignorant me was getting ready to take apart the steering wheel/column and replace the coil hahha
