For those that doubt my 200 MPH quest...

This just came into the shop today:

It will be heavily massaged to accept a Dominator carb, and adaptor flanges will be created to bolt it to these:

And the beat goes on...

When do you project this thing being completed? Everytime you finish one part of this thing it makes me crave the final result. Keep up the good work Bob.

Thanks man, but I have no idea when it will be done. But I will say this much, very few days don't go by in which something isn't being done! So, it's just like a big puzzle...one piece at a time, until it's complete.

Jersyboyy 09-11-2008 12:49 AM

I here ya big guy, thats exactly how I feel with my project.

Pampered-Z 09-11-2008 12:04 PM

I believe the proper response to when any project will be completed is: TWO WEEKS.

Bob have you looked into power/weight/Aerodynamics?

Car below made 820HP and broke the 200MPH barrier. I'd assume the AMX would be close in weight? But are you going to have to look at the areo to keep all 4 wheels planted on the ground?

Those things really exist?

NJSPEEDER 09-11-2008 11:56 PM

Glidden intake, me likey. :)

What distance are you giving yourself to get to 200? Are you going for the standing mile like Maxton or Texas or is this a Bonneville trip in the making?

PolarBear 09-12-2008 02:01 PM

Good luck with that!

It will never make it!

200mph standing mile is tough. 200mph is sweet!

I know how I can check the aero...we'll have an 'ol skool "Central Jersey F Body Club" meet...remember those? Well, all you puff-a-holics that used to have to schmoke about 2 packs while we were at Fudds for an hour can light up in front of my car, and blow the smoke over it. Meanwhile, I, while wearing a gas mask, can check the smoke pattern for aerodynamic drag and lift!

Well, it's about 29 miles from my place in Central NJ to Morrisville, Pennsyltucky. So, I'm giving myself 29 miles to hit 200 MPH.

Nah, if anything, Maxton is a more realistic goal for me than B'Ville.

NJSPEEDER 09-14-2008 05:10 PM

Good luck with it UBG. I am hoping to make a long weekend in the spring to hit Maxton and get my basic licensing done. How far I can go with it will depend upon how much safety equipment I can afford between now and then. heh

Looks good Bob, I love those Dominion heads, can't wait to see it all put together it will certainly be a rare beast.
