Last call! Word on the street is it will be closing after labor day. So come on up.

For those who are unfamiliar with The Chatterbox Drive In, it is a classic American diner that also hosts recurring cruise-nights. Their events and food draw gearheads from all over the region, and never disappoint. It's a family friendly environment that will keep the wife/kids happy while also letting you sift through a sea of cool cars that take over the property as the evening goes on.


Rendezvous Point/Extra Info:
Always the ambitious go-getter, Dave took it upon himself to talk to the owner of The Chatterbox in advance and they came up with some cool ideas to make for some good photography options.
In an effort to get all the NJFBOA/FBody cars parked together, we're suggesting a Pre-Meet rendezvous <5 minutes away from the venue, this way we can all pull-in to Chatterbox's cruise night together and park in-line as a club.
We will meet at the Lafayette Township Fire Department lot (126 NJ-15, Lafayette Township, NJ 07848), where there is a large, public, side parking lot at 4:00. We will be staying here for about 15 minutes while the group all meets up. From this location, it is very easy to get back on Route 15, because you simply make a right turn and don't have to go across any traffic lanes. Per Don at Chatterbox, we can all park in the Modern Muscle section as a gang--including vehicles with QQ plates. This should make for some good pics and videos! :-P

We did the same routine last year and it seemed to work pretty well. We met up at the firehouse about 1 mile south of the chatterbox on rt 15. It has a big parking lot. We then drove as a group into the Chatterbox and parked in the grassy area that is reserved usually for "modern muscle cars".

The only thing we can not control is the weather that day.

I am 90% sure I can be there to facilitate this event, but work schedules have been getting tricky recently and sometimes changes in my schedule are made a few days in advance. Lets plan on this date for now.

Yeah let’s hope for good weather. This rain sucks.

I'm in, gonna be there anyway if the weather is good. Last day is September 1st. Probably gonna do one final cruise night that day then close their doors. The club is moving the cruise night to the Jumboland Diner about 5 minutes further up 206 to finish the season. After that they don't know. So if anyone wants to get to the Chatterbox prior to closing, September 1st is the final one.

I told Dave on Friday, I have a wedding in Long branch unfortunately.

I just talked to Dave. We are going to make a weather decision tomorrow by noon

Okay - im in unless its saying like 100% of rain then its no fun. Seeing you guys are all like UMI approved racecar drivers I assume driving in rain isnt going to scare you away ;)

Looking at the weather I say go for it. T storms at 3 maybe 4, then clears out for the rest of the evening. Larry and myself are doin the cops n rodders show in Hackettstown then going to the chatterbox after. May have more cars in tow. JohnnyP may join later as well.

Any updates? It's 50/50 storms from 3 onwards, sun is coming out here in Hackettstown.

I just talked to Dave. There's a front going to push through at 4 or so. After that it might be ok.

But officially we are pushing it one week. But hey, don't let that stop any locals from going today.

Not that it's worth anything, but the forecast for next weekend is great. Maybe that will entice more people to come out.

Yeah it’s a shame that this weather is so tricky today. And even if it didn’t rain on us but turn out might have been low for the other cars which might have put a damper on the meet. Let’s all hope for great weather and a big turn out next Saturday

you guys made the right decision. It monsooned up here for a solid 30 minutes before clearing up again later on.

yea, we made the right call. it totally did rain buckets right about the time that we would have been at the chatterbox.

I have an idea.

I will probably be going to Island Dragway for the day BEFORE going up to the Chatterbox event. If other people want to join me, I think it would be an awesome event to go to.

I'll probably go there mid morning, stay until around 3:30pm and then head up to our meeting spot at the firehouse parking lot just a mile away from the Chatterbox; then cruise over and hangout at the box for one the final cruise-night (or 2nd to last possibly) of its existence. could be quite a fun day.

Have family bday celebrations to attend on Saturday so unfortunately I'm out. Have fun folks. I need to get up there before they close.

Last one is September 1st Brian. So get there soon. Believe they will close the doors after the cruise night that night. I'm still in for this Saturday. May consider the island idea.

yes, the last cruise night is Sept 1 correct. however if it rains that day and the cruise night is canceled, then the one this upcoming weekend will have been the last one.

I'm surprised we only have 5 people wanting to attend this .. ?
