RAAMmat & Ensolite: On The Fence

I'm considering taking the plunge & doing a Sound Deadening upgrade to the Firebird. I'm considering purchasing "Package # 2 ---- 30 Sheets of RAAMmat BXT II (56.25 sq ft) and 4 1/2 yards of Ensolite IUO Peel and Stick Foam (62.43 sq ft) -- $279.04 shipped." from http://www.raamaudio.com/ . Link to product here: http://www.raamaudio.com/package-2-3...ensolite-foam/

I'm not worried about music as much as I am about making sure that this car isn't another stereotypical, rattle-trap, FBody. Those who have used RAAMmat BXTII and Ensolite on these cars, do you have any feedback to share?

Is there any reason I shouldn't take the plunge?

I used RAAMTatt 60 BXt on the floor of my car back in 2010 after I did the POR15 undercoating project. I can definitely say that it was well worth it. while it is heavy and will add weight, it definitely cut down on the noises. My noise was mostly from the gear whine with the richmond 3.73's but even though I can still slightly hear them whine, it is a big difference. I didn't have any rattles or anything (and still don't have any that I notice) but the sounds deadener is good. it cut down on the "road noise" as I can tell only when I have the windows up, but 99% of the time I have the windows rolled all the way down unless it is cold out. I did not do any of the doors, roof, or trunk and probably never will since I don't need to.

heres a link with some photos. photos are about half-way down the page

Sound deadend my car and love every second of it ever since i did it 7 years ago. I used Second Skin Damplifier pro

I threw a few pieces of Damplifier down under my carpet when I redid my interior. It's hard to tell if it was the carpet or the sound deadening that helped, but the car is quieter with the windows up.

One thing I didn't do is cover the entire floor. I covered patches with the sound deadening as this stuff doesn't act as a barrier, so much as a vibration damper. No need to waste the material or add extra weight you don't need.

Order placed.

FYI, they're having a 10% off sale at the moment, in case anyone needs a little incentive. They're ~3 weeks away from shipping (04/29/16) as per their website, which isn't too bad if you're not in a dire rush.

https://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/ all you need to know. Dynamat, and the like, is not sound deadener, it is vibration damper
