Removing tranny cooler lines from radiator

I'm changing the radiator in my Blazer, and I can't get the tranny cooler lines to release. The tool to release the clips came with the new radiator and I can see the clips releasing, but the lines won't budge. What could I be doing wrong? Any tips and advice will be really appreciated...thanks!
