What do I do....
 

So, I'm at another impass on what to do for the racing season... as a few of you know that 2010 was kaput due to rear and trans issues...

Now, as far as the motor goes...

Its a 98 motor and makes decent power, but do I run a N/A season and try to find the best times that way?

Take another season off and save for a new motor?

"Spray and pray" basicly do what it says... run nitrous and hope that the stock 98 rod bolts hold together/ring lands dont explode?

The issue is, its a good running motor and someone may be able to use it, but after the last option thats is not a viable option.

what are your future plans?... if you plan on going big cube FI down the road i say spray the **** out of it now, if not run i n/a, that was you get yourr racing fix and much less likely to hurt things thus setting you back anyway

I'd sell what you've got and put it towards a new motor.

You are teh dumb.

I would lay out what you can throw at a new motor, if you can afford to do it over the winter do it. If not, hold off until you get a full racing season in.

When you do get the budget and have the spare ready to go, hit current motor with nitrous and pray.

Or, swap LT1 and win. :wink:

If I can get a decent amount for said motor thats in the car now, I can fund the new motor and do it before racing season starts.

Then put some feelers out on the current motor and if it doesn't sell by mid to later winter run it n/a, and have fun. I wouldn't spray it for A. at the end of next season the motor still maybe worth something B. the spray set up will will cost X amount of dollars that can go towards your new motor. Besides if you missed last season I'm sure your dying to get back, and the practice won't hurt you and you may find there is other issues you want to address before the new motor. Like suspension, safety crap, etc.

The thing is the nitrous setup is complete and already installed on the car, so that factor is already taken care of!

I do have alot of suspension to work on... now that everything is adjustable now.

i would make sure the rest of the car is bullet proof, this year you should dial in your suspension and get a good, unbreakable driveline and get those 60's way down with just n/a, then when thats done start to play with spray
