 Everything is easy to ruin remove. Enjoy working on those panel gaps.

-since the fenders and bumper are off im going to remove some weight. Nothing to extreme. I plan on leaving the shock towers whole but i will be removing some of the unneeded meat from behind the fenders and as well as removing the front bumper support in favor of a tubular unit that ill fab up.
This will save you maybe 20 pounds. Do you really think you're going to feel a huge benefit from that? Leave them on and pick up a copy of Atkins instead

Saves way more than 20. Closer to 50 after both fenders and the bumper support is gone. Tubular one should come in less than 5lbs and it's honestly only to keep the bumper from sagging

LTb1ow 12-10-2016 04:51 PM

I say chop shock towers out and tube the front end.

Blackbirdws6 12-10-2016 05:05 PM

I saw go tube chassis and save the steering wheel.

I shaved off a ton of weight with the lexan rear hatch.

I've been looking at that, maybe down the road. For now I'm going to do everything I can without digging into the wallet.

Any tips or tricks you did to your?

Yea, dig into your wallet now and spend the money. Or find a guy like NJTORQUE and buy all his stuff @ 1/2 price.

Lmao! Well I meant some DIY weight reduction.

You run the lexan on the factory hatch ?

MDSheds_SS 12-11-2016 08:29 PM

I got the whole hatch with the lexan glass in it. I removed the impact bar, tubular k member, no power steering pump or AC. Other then that my car has everything else. I still have the heater box in for now. Didn't get to take it out yet.

How is it with no PS? My fox had an iron 351 in it and I didn't have PS and if wasn't that bad. I was on big and little all the time though. This car I'll have a normal wheel and tire set up on it mostly.

Had the stock rack looped, with 4.5s, was fine for me. Now I have 3.5s and manual rack. I actually like the stock rack better so far.
