March Car of the Month Submissions

Anyone can post one picture of their Camaro or Firebird in this thread.

Please include your name and a short paragraph describing the mods done to the car and/or a short story about the car as well.

If this is not posted in this thread by the time voting begins, your car will not be included in the vote.

At the last week of the month we will post a poll that will last for one week (7 days) and the winner will get to spend the following month showcased on the home page of the site. Past winners will not be eligible to win again for 12 months.

All submitted pictures should be a minimum size of 640 x 480, as this is the size of the image that will be posted on the home page. If you aren't sure of the size, post it up the largest image you have (within reason).

If you have submitted a car in the past, but were not selected as a winner, feel free to submit another pic. You can continue to enter each month until you win.

I'm 17 years old and still in high school. I bought the car in January of 08 with 170K miles on it for 5K. It was stock and I have made it pretty much a full bolt-on car along with UMI suspension components. I have done all of the work myself. The car was dynoed at 334 rwhp/339rwtq back in July at TTP. I have since done a few more mods and would say the car is pushing 340rwhp/350rwtq now. On February 1st, I took the car to Atco for a PB time of 12.52@113.1mph. Growing up, my dad had a 68 Camaro running 10's at E-town and he also had many f-bodies. Unfortunately, in 07 he had a medical mishap and had to sell his 2000 Trans am. 6 months later, and a lot of hard work, I bought this car and it's my way of keeping the sports car tradition in the family.

I picked this clean t-top 98 z28 6 speed up this past august after i sold my 93 ss clone that i was having alot of trouble with. The car was basically stock when i got it, since that point ive put some clean ss wheels on along with an SLP LM1 cat back, fast toys ram air kit, and Umi suspension. I plan on doing some more mods come spring time along with installing the Ultra Z hood i have for her.

My name is Ed Kozinski. This is my 1991 Formula 350 and has been my Show N' Go car for the last 15 years. It has quite a few mods such as SLP/Edlebrock/BORLA/Hotchkis/MSD and Energy Suspension. The exterior is fairly stock with the addition of GTA tailights and the '93 molded bird in the center of the bumper. With only 57,000 on it, the interior is just like new with the addition of carbon fiber accents on the dash and console. The entire undercarriage is also detailed and so are the all the brake parts with dimpled GT Rotors. There were only 1,198 of these models made with the 350 L98 TPI Performance Package! Also this car is still for sale. PM if interested.

Can you submit a car you no longer own, but that you used to own and which was much more aesthetically pleasing than your current vehicle?

Mileage: 45,000

I bought this car back in March of 2001 when I was a junior in high school. I would talk to my grandfather, who was like a father to me, about buying a Camaro one day and around that time he suffered from a stroke. One day while he was in the hospital, I bought a Camaro magazine with me to show him something that might trigger a memory. He lost his ability of talking but was awake enough to acknowledge the magazine. He smiled at me and pointed to the picture. He told me in the past that he would help me buy the car some day. He passed away the next day. My mother took some of her inheritance and helped me buy the car a few months later. I remember that when I bought it in Pittstown, NJ, I'll never forget that I almost didn't get to it in time. Another buyer was looking at it but moved on. It had to be the most noticeable car in the dealership lot. It holds a lot of sentimental meaning to me. It was the last thing my grandfather and I talked about before he passed away. I baby the car and I never drive wreckless with it. I see it as a reminder of the great and giving person he was.

My mods are an SLP LM exhaust, Edelbrock headers, ported cylinder heads, Drag radials, a functional Air induction hood, and a computer tune. Appearance mods are 18 in Chrome Akuza Wheels, a painted Z style hood, lowering springs. and Halo headlights. I will be adding on my Twin Turbo system in the upcoming months as well.

Nope, the car has to currently belong to the person submitting it.

OK, I'll give this a shot. Here is my 88 Iroc with a TPI 350. I bought it right off the lot in August of 1988. Saw this car sitting all by itself in the corner of the dealer away from all the other cars and Camaro's. It had the 350 and T-Tops and the color I wanted. So I had to have it. I had to work two jobs back then to pay for it, but I always wanted a Camaro or T/A so I was worth it. It was my daily driver for its first two years and then a weekend warrior until 94. The car is still stock with no mods. Only added things to the car are the louvers and bra along with K & N air filters.

This summer I'm taking a decent picture of your car if you don't get Alex to. It deserves better haha

1979 Chevy Camaro Berlinetta

I bought this car in October of 2005 with plans to make her my daily driver. I was told the car had a 305 when I purchased it, but when I got it home I realized it had a 350. I decided to make her a Z28 clone. I rebuilt the car to pretty much stock specifications. I replaced the timing wheel, chain, and cover, the water pump, all hoses and vacuum lines, replaced the carb, put new plugs and wires on her, installed a new heater core, and radiator, repaired rotten floors and lower quarters. I then restored the body and mounted all Z28 options. I used templates to drill holes for the teardrop scoop and the spoiler. Sent the car off to paint, and restored the interior the following winter.

Cars have always been around my house. My dad was huge on restoring cars and turning them around for a profit in the 1980's. He's had many a GTO, firebird, and Camaros. When the time came for me to get my first car, I knew what I had to get.

I picked this one up in December, currently has 57k miles and was stock. Currently she sports an SLP lid, K&N filter, Smoth Bellow, and is awaitng the install of a BBK TB. She sounds mean with her SLP LM1 exhaust. As for appearance, so far we have clear front corner lights and Nightshaded rear corner lights.

I bought the car almost a year ago up in north jersey. When I bought the car it had kooks longtube header, highflow cats, and a magnaflow catback. It also had a 3600 Vig, tune and a moser rear with 373s. Since I have owned the car i added the a Stock ws6 ram air hood and a set of MT Drag Radials. I also recently put C6 Z06 wheels to cruise around on. The best I have done at atco is a 12.409 @ 109.3. Hopefully come this season a can run 12.0 or maybe even 11s.

1995 Trans Am

My entire life all I wanted was a Chevy Camaro. I worked and worked and managed to save up just enough to buy a 3rd gen, and only owned it for a few months before someone ran a light and totaled it. After that, I was completely distraught. I was searching for a 4th gen Camaro when I came across this car. I was a little hesitant because I was more partial to the Camaro, but this car was extremely clean and the price was good, so I got just enough money from the insurance company and my savings to purchase this Trans Am. This was my first V8 f-body and I've definitely fallen in love with them permanently. After buying it I was immediately introduced to the optispark. After that was replaced, this car got me everywhere, in any weather. It took the beating from getting me to and from school in North Philadelphia everyday but this car handled it better than I could've imagined. This car was seriously like a tank. One time a huge pothole took out my friend's wrangler's tire, but the TA made it through with just a big thud. Unfortunately, I need to sell it to get a truck in order to have my lawn business, but as soon as I start making the moneys I'll be in another one.

Mark68 02-10-2009 07:26 PM

My name is Mark Erdie and this is my '68 RS/SS Camaro. I bought it around 10 years ago and have refurbished or replaced almost every part on it. The only thing that didn't need to be addressed was the paint. I have a 350 cu. in, 300 hp engine in it with a muncie 4 speed trans and a hurst shifter. I just added a Comp Cams thumper cam that gives it a big block sound. The exhaust is a 2 1/2" stainless kit from Pypes with Violator mufflers. I installed a push button start that makes it kind of unique. The wheels are 17" billet rallye's soon to replaced with 18" Rushforths. The original seats have been replaced with Arizen racing buckets in black leather w/red inserts, The rears have also been recovered to match the front buckets. The front seatbelts have been replaced with 3 point racing belts from Morris Classic Concepts. There's more but I'm getting tired of typing!

Yes, you won in August 2008, so you won't be eligible again until COTM for August 2009.
