Ocean City Cruisin' Weekend 2008

May 15-18, 2008
The show itself is only for 1976 and earlier, but the main thing is just cruising up and down the main strip all weekend. Its an amazing time, definitely worth it if you can get some time off or whatever.

www.cruisinoceancity.com

It is $35 (before March 1) for the show which includes a guest pass
$45 from March 1-May1 and that still gets the guest pass
$55 day of show (if there are still spots open)

You need guest passes to get into the shows, and if you just go I believe they are $20 each down there. If you bring a car (76 and older) its worth signing up because you can drive, and park at the shows at different areas, even if you plan on just walking around, or whatever. Parking is a pain! You will see some really insane cars cruising all weekend, and many of them are on street slicks, so ya know at some point youre gonna catch a few exhibitions of 0-speedlimit. Ill be going down the 15th, staying at a friends house, but hotel info can be found at: www.ocvisitor.com if you do plan on going make sure you get in touch with me before the 15th and if there are enough of us we can all get together down there. At night there are TONS of places to go to, I will talk to my friend, its her house and she knows all the places down there to go to, so I will post those up later on if anyone wants to know those.

I'll be down there with my friend Dan again. I believe hes getting a hotel somewhere on the strip with a balcony so we can drink to our hearts content and walk around.

We should definitely meet up again and cruise together!

Definitely Alex, my buddy Steve is going to have his Monte Carlo this year, so we will definitely be doing ALOT of cruising. There are a few spots that we may need to have a few photos taken at this year, and not have to leave because of over heating issues <knock on wood>

Put it this way, I needed new tires on the car after Ocean City :-) Its 500x crazier than wildwood with whats rolling up and down the road. We would be up at 9-10 be cruising by 12. We would finish up cruising around 2am party till 4 and then repeat it. The cars never stopped rolling, and from the condo we heard and saw stuff all 24 hours a day for the entire 5 days we were there. At one point I was cruising between a 67 SS chevelle with a blown 468 Rat motor and a 69 SS Chevelle that was rolling on slicks (not even street slicks) that had a 7.xx dial in. So yeah, I would say its kinda crazy down there. The best part about it is being able to cruise and let off some steam, you get to see some things cruising that you never get to see other than in pages of magazines or on the tv.

NICE! What hotel are you staying at?

chevyt454 01-31-2008 04:12 PM

DaSkinnyGuy 02-15-2008 05:18 PM

It's possible i maybe able to come, currently i am in ocean city,MD in the hilton oceanfront for the weekend. Family is thinking about coming back down.

DaSkinnyGuy 02-19-2008 01:59 PM

Talking with some people on LS1tech.com and there will be many people there and they plan on staying together as a group.

bad64chevelle 02-19-2008 03:13 PM

if they havent booked a hotel yet they probably wont be staying all together, if at all in ocean city itself I think most places are booked

chevyt454 02-19-2008 03:56 PM

I can't wait!

bad64chevelle 02-23-2008 09:44 AM

yeah I hear ya, my buddy and I have been working on his car every weekend and will continue to do so till its done, I am at a stand still waiting for parts for the front end. Its been three weeks now, even after they were supposed to be delivered yesterday, still nothing.

chemicalstylez 03-23-2008 10:59 PM

I'm going to get a room this tuesday... I never go into the actual show lol. I love crusin that huge strip...hopefully no rain this time around!!!

bad64chevelle 03-24-2008 08:33 AM

Yeah, I dont think I will be attending the shows because I wont have carpet or anything in the car, but I will be cruising all weekend. The rain never stopped some from cruising last year

chevyt454 03-25-2008 08:19 AM

Change of plans - I'm staying at teh Coastal Inn which is right on the strip & 26th street. I'm also heading down on Thursday unless you guys want to cruise down together.

bad64chevelle 03-25-2008 11:21 AM

Im leaving around 10AM on Thursday with a bunch of cars (on trailers) I dunno when you planned on leaving or anything.

chemicalstylez 03-26-2008 09:49 AM

I'm leaving thursday around 12-1pm, driving down Route 1 the whole way. I'm staying on like 119th at the Sirene. Everything was booked up when I drove down there yesterday to scope a place out. So i'm kind of far out, but even on 119th theres still a lot cars :)

bad64chevelle 03-26-2008 10:04 AM

Yeah I am staying off the main strip this year but was somewhere about 54th last year by the 7-11. We all have to make a night we can meet up, and we also need to get some phone numbers if there are any problems while we are down there so someone isnt left stranded. Ill make a thread up for phone numbers soon.

chemicalstylez 03-26-2008 07:03 PM

Sounds good... I have a 99 Vette and a 94 Z28 tagging along with me this time around. Putting my headers on in 2 weeks, and hopefully i'll be cammed by than too. Cant wait!

chevyt454 03-27-2008 02:14 PM

Maybe we can pick a spot to meet up.

bad64chevelle 03-31-2008 10:07 PM

I am working with some guys over from Team Chevelle to work out a time to all get together, I will let you guys know also.

ar0ck 03-31-2008 10:50 PM

Hey Big Jon, think you might have any room for an extra person? My friend Dan with the Stang is backing out on me and I'll have no where to crash.

bad64chevelle 04-01-2008 07:11 AM

I will ask but I am staying at a friends parents house, so its kinda not my call.
