Thanks! It's been absolutely awesome so far.

The_Bishop 10-22-2017 03:00 PM

So I may or may not have ordered a 1" lift spacer for the front and the metal skid plates that are on the ZR2...

wretched73 10-22-2017 03:31 PM

Nice, the trucks always look better once they're leveled

LS1ow 10-22-2017 05:13 PM

You still work at the firehouse on the way into Hoboken ?

If you never worked there ignore me, for some reason I feel like you did

The_Bishop 10-22-2017 06:09 PM

Yeah, that's me. You've asked me that before, lol.

I’m getting forgetful at my elder age (I’m 25 now !)

I ask Bc I drove past today on my way to hoboken for some day drinking

The_Bishop 10-22-2017 07:12 PM

Nice. Not in the firehouse today, took the day off because it's my daughter's birthday.

The_Bishop 10-30-2017 07:29 PM

So I may or may not have received said ZR2 skid plates and 1" lift for the front of the truck, and I may or may not be installing it tomorrow...

sweetbmxrider 10-30-2017 07:42 PM

I may or may not check for before and after photos of what may or may not happen....

The_Bishop 10-30-2017 09:13 PM

It'll be like Schrodinger's Cat! Except it's a truck. And in my driveway, not a box.

Blackbirdws6 10-31-2017 08:00 AM

I may or may not give you crap for any delays in posting.

The_Bishop 10-31-2017 01:50 PM

I may or may not have just finished.

A little chilly when I started:

Now to source an alignment.

The difference isn't as subtle as I thought it would be but I'm OK with that. Lift is right around 1.25" in the front, so there's still a little rake but that's OK; I use my truck like a truck from time to time.

LTb1ow 10-31-2017 01:51 PM

Where are the pics??

The_Bishop 10-31-2017 01:54 PM

I fumble-fingered the image links, now working.

In the spirit of the original pic when I got it home, here's a 'what it looks like now':

GM factory rake is a way of life. The lift is subtle but looks good.

sweetbmxrider 11-01-2017 09:19 AM

Looks nice!

What else does your future forecasting device tell you????

Anti_Rice_Guy 11-01-2017 09:29 AM

Needs moar tire.

The_Bishop 11-01-2017 04:31 PM

Nick: I know. Seriously considering a set of Goodyear Duratracs for it.

BMX: My future forecasting device tells me that I may or may not be talking myself into tires sooner than later.

The_Bishop 11-01-2017 07:40 PM

I was sitting here, bored and wondering what I was going to do about the chrome stuff on my truck, and the bright yellow chevy emblems.

Chevy makes blacked out emblems, but that's $$ than can be better used elsewhere.

Then I remembered that I have a roll of carbon fiber vinyl wrap that I got for something else a few years ago, put on a shelf and promptly forgot about.

I dug it out. Wanted to try a bit of it on *something*. Looked around and found my key fob.

Considering that this took me all of 3.43 minutes, I think it turned out OK. A little heat from a blow dryer helped with the curves and some quick work with a semi-dull razor knife dressed up the edges.

Should work OK on the emblems, I think. Definitely going to plasti-dip the chrome badges. I have black and gunmetal plasti-dip, can't find anthracite around here.

ar0ck 11-01-2017 08:02 PM

That came out great, I'm in love with the 3M Carbon Fiber wrap, I still have a roll in the closet. I might pick up some similar black to do my mirrors on my Silverado, I hate chrome.

Blackbirdws6 11-01-2017 08:17 PM

Fob looks good and makes me want to start screwing with my truck lol.

The_Bishop 11-01-2017 08:25 PM

Arock - Yeah, not a big chrome fan.

BLS - LOL, you can't pin that on me.
