Anyone ever have any issues with Hawks ? I ordered something from them on the 2nd, still haven't received it. Tracking # shows ETA is 1/8 :bertstare:

They were closed from Christmas to New Year, I believe, so they may be catching up on orders during that time. I bought the 17" crosslace wheels during the sale and they shipped pretty quick. Call them if you can't wait. But you can only call from 1pm-4 or 5pm EST!

I actually received my part today lol

I don't think it was their fault, it showered up in a big box, and inside the big box was a smaller box that looked like the original box. I guess packaging was damaged at the post office and that was the delay

Anything getting done?.... On the car?

LTb1ow 01-16-2017 02:59 PM

Does the car even exist?

Jersey Mike 01-16-2017 03:12 PM

"Car" is probably a tad liberal for this things current state

wretched73 01-16-2017 03:47 PM

Excuse me, Has this pile of scrap made it to the dump yet?

Jersey Mike 01-16-2017 04:18 PM

No. Plenty of ambition and money yet to flounder.

Everything that can be done without a motor and trans is being done.

Cut off switch and battery box will be done Tuesday night, after that the fuel tank will go back in (new pump)

After that stuff I'm pretty much at a dead end till I get some more $$$. No point of putting all the fancy suspension stuff in now, just going to have to pull the K again when the motor comes.

wretched73 01-17-2017 06:43 AM

So just motor is holding you up?

Pretty much. I have X amount of $ set aside for parts, I don't want to spend money and then not have the cash ready when I get the call to go get the engine.

once I get the engine, then I will send the heads to get cleaned and what not. Then after that order all the stuff needed for engine assembly(head gaskets, head bolts, pushrods, ect)

Then this thing should get going

Sounds good, I probably missed it but what are the plans for the motor?

Stock bottom end LS1 with 243s and a cam threw a 4l60e while it lasts lol

LS1ow 01-21-2017 10:09 AM

Nah, never again

Was seconds way from destroying the HVAC box from the outside last night as discussed earlier in the thread.

But then the Jersey Mike on my left shoulder somehow out reasoned the Adam on my right shoulder...

so i started to pull the dash last night to get to the HVAC.

Dash pad out once piece:nod:

Current state.

http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/...psx3e5dsk4.jpg

Had to leave after that.

So for those that have done the removal, do i have enough room to get it out? or do i need to continue

sweetbmxrider 01-21-2017 11:03 AM

Well, you wasted that much time. Might as well yank it all.

Sigh. I just wanted working defrosters !

sweetbmxrider 01-21-2017 03:59 PM

Without ac, they won't work very well anyways

Jersey Mike 01-21-2017 07:17 PM

I think you should be able to access all the bolts with a swivel and long extension like that but, just like Adam said, you're at the home stretch and may as well just keep going

deadtrend1 01-22-2017 06:45 AM

I pulled the dash completely out to remove the hvac box. Just be carefull cause the soft padding will crack or get holes if you hit it on anything

LS1ow 01-22-2017 02:30 PM

At this point what else should be holding it in? I know the harness is clipped to it at some points, but any other bolts that need to come off?

sweetbmxrider 01-22-2017 02:49 PM

The dash? Looks like its pretty much out?

ar0ck 01-23-2017 02:20 PM

No stopping now! I'll see if I have any extra ABS plastic you can fashion a delete plate.
