Anybody have good experience with header paint?

I need to put some paint on the boat headers since they're down to bare metal (they only come with a protective shipping paint). Do any of the store bought high temp paints really work? These shouldn't really get the abuse that car headers do with the road debris and rain so I think they would hold up better. I just want to get them protected before any surface rust starts.

I Cerakote'd my manifolds, its been great so far. The manifolds are black and the heat shields are a dark gray/silver. Would do again, but it is expensive for what you get. I think each bottle was $35 for 4 oz? I think I still have some left though and I got like 4 coats on each

I've used the vht brand on a couple sets of headers. It looks good for a little while but I never had it last more then 2-3 yrs. Even following the break in procedure on the can. So I'd say the store cans only sort of work lol
