wow what a jerk off

One of my co-workers lives just over the PA border in Delaware and commutes up here to Princeton everyday. She bought a dashcam shortly after starting that commute and has a great "gag reel" of idiotic driving on file.

I've wanted one for a while. I see multiple idiots every day.

A lot of guys I work with use them in the trucks. Its saved a few jobs. Could def be useful as evidence just in case

Driving the Rt1 and the PATP everyday I'm sure I could make a good highlight reel. Would have been nice to have a dash cam when I watched the Audi driving like an a-hole and plow into the back of an 18 wheeler.

I've seen a few set ups that you can use your old phones with, records in a lower video format and self deleted after 24-48 hours. I don't drive very far anymore but it would be handy for long trips!

NJSPEEDER 04-28-2015 09:59 AM

I wonder if having a dash cam set up would lower insurance. I already drive carefully because of the price of gas, would be nice to have something to back up my side of things if I get wiped out by one of the lunitics I see everyday

BonzoHansen 04-28-2015 11:13 AM

no it wont lower insurance rates. but it might get someone out of, or into, trouble if something comes up that is on video.

Happened in NY state. Camaro driver was charged with DWI plus other charges

http://www.syracuse.com/us-news/inde..._with_dwi.html

Quote:

charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. State police said his blood alcohol content was .19 percent. Thapa was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a Class E felony.

I would like a dash cam as well. But when your buying one you might want to consider what you want. If your looking for a high quality video, if you want a camera that is only a dash cam or one that can be used outside of the car, video and battery life is another thing to consider, also frames per second. There are 2 ways you go when buying one there are Dash cams meant for just that or you could go with a GoPro. I would probably go with a GoPro so I could also use it outside of the car for other things as well.
