4th Gen Radio Delete

Scouring the internet I could not find any information on doing radio deletes on a 4th Gen dashboard. Searching Ebay revealed that ABS plastic was fairly inexpensive, but I wanted to see if anyone had done this before. I wanted to see what size plates you used, and how you mounted it inside the dash board?

Any & All info would be helpful!

I did it. Still have a big hunk of abs. And may still have my actual panel

Lots of drag cars do it and either use the area for switch panels or gauges etc. I would grab some abs plastic off ebay and rough it out to the opening then glue it to the bezel. Nothing fancy, just simple and effective. The texture won't match perfectly but it looks good if you use some duplicolor interior paint and shoot the entire dash to be the same black instead of the weird grayish it is.

I did it on my 96 .... used the radio install adapter as a template with some plastic at work....

Here's my 94 camaro radio relocation. I used a piece of 16 gauge aluminium for the gauges and radio plates.

For those of you who completed removed the radio, did you strip all the wiring as well? I'm looking at the passenger side wiring harness that runs from the antenna, to the two rear speakers and to the amp, I should just be able to pull each rainbow colored wire from that harness out of the main harness and not effect anything?

I started to, but the alarm sensor was tangled with it and i just said f it and left it in. But removing the unused speaker wire wont affect anything.

I used the radio harness in the dash for my guage lights and certain power switches though. Just remember that it retains power until the door is opened.
