It's never good when you can remove a rocker without any tools.
Tried a new set of 26" tires at the track and I bounced off the rev limiter going threw the lights. This is the end result.

damn bro ! that sucks sorry to see... when was that ?

sweetbmxrider 07-14-2016 06:28 PM

Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo damn!

Jersey Mike 07-14-2016 06:33 PM

This is a first for me... congrats? Joe, you never cease to surprise

ar0ck 07-14-2016 06:54 PM

That is wild!

MDSheds_SS 07-14-2016 07:47 PM

That happened a few weeks ago at Etown test n tune, but with this heat I haven't been able to get under there and inspect the situation. After getting it off the trailer and taking off the valve cover this is what I found. Decision time.... Not sure what I will be doing next.

3.4 grape of wrath 07-14-2016 08:14 PM

Damn! Never seen that before.

FlyingDutchman 07-14-2016 08:39 PM

Wow, sweet carnage! Is that a weld below the rocker? Or just funny lighting?

MDSheds_SS 07-14-2016 08:45 PM

Looks to be a welded. These heads must have been repaired once already. They were a Craig's List special. That's what ya get for budget build projects I guess.

IROCZman15 07-14-2016 09:04 PM

i noticed that welding on it too. wheeew thats some damage!

MDSheds_SS 07-15-2016 06:05 AM

Anyone have any pros/cons with the Trick Flow GenX 215s? Trying my best to not change the cam again. Looks like my cam will work nice with those heads.

Blackbirdws6 07-15-2016 06:08 AM

Ouch. That's a new one. Good luck getting it back together.

NJ Torque 07-15-2016 07:49 AM

Definitely due to that weld job. Never seen a head break like that before.

Those TFS heads will work great on your motor.

sweetbmxrider 07-15-2016 08:20 AM

But if it was welded that means it broke before?

The_Bishop 07-15-2016 10:03 AM

Maybe when ported it broke through, and that's how it was repaired?

Either way, that sucks.

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines as well. Silly craigslist welding cast aluminum.

I have to ask. Did the 26's hook? If so what were they

Mickeys ET Streets.
26x10.5s
17 psi
Hooked up nicely. However the wheel moved in the tire. Almost a 1/4 inch according to the marks I made.

MDSheds_SS 07-16-2016 09:46 AM

I haven't found any DRs that don't hook. I've tried 15"and 16" MTs and Hoosiers both hook. Even hooked with 17" MTs

Are these the new bias tires? Or is this a radial?

I picked up a set of the Radial pro (26x8.5) and they hook great.

MDSheds_SS 07-16-2016 11:32 AM

They are bias ply but I don't think they are the new ones. They are the MT 3752 model according to the Google machine.

That's a good tire, I don't believe their still in production, they changed the tread on the new ones. Sorry I hijacked the hell out of your disaster. That sucks. If you only knew you could have had " JB Weld Heads "in your sig!
