Nationals '06 Date Settled Yet?
 

Im just curious if a date has been planned? I DEFINATELY wanna go to next years nationals, so to make sure of it, I wanna take off the day before/after it. Because at my job, we pick our vacation/personal days on January 1st starting at the top of the senority list, so I wanna make sure I have those days off.

Sorry man, we are working on a few possible dates now, but we won't have a date set for sure until sometime in January when the track sets their schedule.

Sorry, it'll be on a Sunday. We will have to build up more of a name for ourselves before we can start interferring with local tracks bracket programs.

the event will be at island dragway in great meadows, nj. www.islanddragway.com
date is not locked in yet, we are looking at sundays in mid august again. hopefully either the 13th or 20th. won't know for a while yet.
we are also working on a few things to make it worth coming down for the weekend :)

Does he have an odd work schedule? The track closes at 6 on Sunday's so we won't be there any later than that. Still plenty of time to get home and get a good night's sleep.

You guy's need to shoot for a cooler time of year. Aug. and sept. are going to be too hot. Why not do 2 . One during a cold month and the other when ever. 90+ degress is no fun on race day.

we use august because it is when the clubs anniversary is. it is also a timeof year when students are home from school and would be able to attend and most families use their vacation time during the summer to attend events.
it also keeps us away from all the other major GM adn f-body events around the region that would prevent people from attending.
currently we do not have the resources to run more than one event. island lets us run this show at their facility for free and there are only 2 of us working on it part time(until the lotto pays off i cna only do this part time:D)
there is a good chance of some similar events being run at different times of year in '06. we are jsut waiting to see what develops at a few other facilities.

Ugh August...... I'll still be there though.
