Hey guys so i made the mistake of buying long tube headers that werent part specific , so in the process of trying to install them i broke the oil pressure sending unit on my 91 305 tbi , now question is can i take that out and install a mechanical one in its place , and if not how do i install a mechanical one otherwise

You could plug the original position and install a new sender in the port on the rear china wall location.

Sounds good and this location is available for me on my 91 305 tbi ??

are you running efi and/or a factory in tank fuel pump?
all small blocks are a port back there by the distributor. you can run a T and run the factory unit and a gauge sender. Although I don't really get the need for a mechanical gauge |
Well my stock one is on the fritz and its always good to have a mechanical one in my opinion not easy to malfunction and easily replaceable thats why eventually all my gauges will be mechanical
|
And everything about the car is stock so im guessing an in tank fuel pump ive read that the oil pressure switch also has some kind of fail safe if the fuel pump relay dies but there is oil pressure it still gets power , this is a second question would putting a t in the oil pressure sending unit together with a mechanical make sence or would it be easier and better to run both on a seperate location ?

Then you need to replace the stock one.
You are fine running two senders from the same port |
