1976 Camaro refinish

This car was just dropped off to us yesterday. Its a 1976 Camaro with 90K original miles. Its also a straight 6. Its very clean with only some lower rot on the fenders. The rear qtrs are near perfect as well as the wheel house etc.

I thought this may be a good opportunity to have some folks who have asked about pricing for their cars that do not require many metal repairs or extensive bodywork to follow a project that may be similar to theirs.

This car was estimated at $5250.00 with materials. This includes the repair of the small rust areas and a full re-spray in PPG base/clear. A nose cone and grill are being supplied by the client.

My first car was a 74 Camaro 350 M-21. Last year without cats. Lots of fun.

Nice....I'm assuming that's a sand and spray job and not down to bare metal?

Since the current base is so clean we are planning to cut it all with 150 by machince, then apply 3 coats of HOK 2k prime. Then hand block with 180.
Another 3 coats of HOK, wet sand, seal and paint.

Shouldn't have many bare metal areas aside from any rust repair.

It's a very clean car. Even the door gaps and hinges are very nice. It's always the 6cly cars that make it to old age well. Even the trim rings are dent free!

Are you keeping it the same color and not spraying the jams and etc.? I hope you post some before and after pics.

This did include the door and trunk jambs. The car is staying the same original color.
Photos will be on our site. I post when we have some new ones. Should be starting in this one tomorrow or early next week. And the ridiculous racing seats are coming out in favor of the originals.
