Bye Bye Stripes!

So, last Friday, I gave in to my thoughts since Day 1 when I purchased the car (May of last year). I removed the hood stripes on Friday, the spoiler upper stripes on Saturday. I need to remove the spoiler lower stripes, and hatch stripes when I have some free time.

Looks nice and clean.

usp55 05-21-2012 03:11 PM

SOOOO much better!

WildBillyT 05-21-2012 03:15 PM

Your car looks great.

The Dodge Dakota with Grand Sport stripes should burn.

MyFirstZ 05-21-2012 03:17 PM

looks perfect.

maroman88 05-21-2012 03:29 PM

looks good either way

GhostDakota 05-21-2012 03:31 PM

Thank ya fella's! The Dakota is an R/T, 5.9L 360 motor. It's not too shabby for a pickup.

I kinda liked the stripes.

JW :D

Anti_Rice_Guy 05-21-2012 03:55 PM

Both look good, but I agree with JW. It set the car apart.

shadowfire 05-21-2012 04:14 PM

i would have kept just the front ones.. they would look good no??

NjbadSS 05-21-2012 04:18 PM

Looks much better and cleaner without them

shadowfire 05-21-2012 04:25 PM

with the way it looks now if you had ghost purple flames it would look sick

MyFirstZ 05-21-2012 04:36 PM

Only stripes I would do would be flat black

baddest434 05-21-2012 04:52 PM

no offense i liked the stripes better. it now looks like the 9 billion other black tran ams out there.

GhostDakota 05-21-2012 05:03 PM

Stripes WILL be back, just not white. I'm going for either darker blue, darker red, or matte black. I'm thinking matte black at the moment would look best. I have the other TA to get up and running now first..

Jersey Mike 05-21-2012 05:08 PM

Can't wait to see some real photography!

LS1ow 05-21-2012 05:16 PM

Matte Black on Black always looks sick

GhostDakota 05-21-2012 05:23 PM

Here are my two purdy cars side by side (dirty though) - cell phone shots:

I took a few shots with my D2x and 70-300 VR just a few seconds ago, but both cars are dirty so I make no promises on how nice it looks :P

The Fixer 05-21-2012 06:01 PM

Personally, I'm glad those stripes are gone, the stripes on the spoiler and hatch did not match the hood design. Looks much cleaner now IMO. Good job!

MyFirstZ 05-21-2012 06:09 PM

I'll be doing a matte black manta on my car soon. The guy who did my clear bra is doing it.

So I'm biased to matte black stripes
