Build direction questions

So ive since switched up my build. I used to track the car at Atco a lot since it was close but I moved to the mountains of PA. I'm setting the car up for handling since all of the roads up here are twisty.
Current plans involving parts I already have.
Install motor, install watts link, install afco coilovers, and install rod end LCA's. The rest of my suspension is stock. I have subframe connectors but I want to switch to the three point.

My question is what would be the next best steps for upgrades that are going to have the most improvement on handling. I was planning on getting the UMI upper control arm mounts for rod end coil overs, upper control arms (the factory looks like they flex a lot), 3 point UMI sfc's, and the c5 front brake conversion. What would be my next best option, lower control arms for the front? 35/22mm sway bar setup?

Wow, trying to go zero to 100 immediately lol? Did you already buy those coil overs? If not I would probably call Sam Strano and see what hes got to offer. he knows 4th gens and turning corners as good as any one. Umi and global west make great arms. Josh@jsp us a umi dealer.

The coil overs are from UMI/Strano. I already have them bought them of ls1tech someone sold their car before them installed them.

http://www.hawksmotorsports.com/umi-...maro-firebird/

it comes with a stem to eye conversion for the top mount which I wasn't a fan of, hence the UMI upper mount for eye/rod end coil over I was going to purchase.

Stay all umi. Call Josh for pricing

That's the plan, their quality seems much better than the sphon components I have now. The watts link is Midwest chassis. Are the three point sfc's worth it over the tubular ones I have in there now you think? Also I have an SLP strut tower brace was wondering if it was worth going to the qa1 style that also bolts to the cowl.

That might depend on clearance under the car, if it works with your changes and all that good stuff.

They hug the floor pan pretty tight, I wasn't planning on slamming th car, it might get lowered .5-1in from stock.

I'd probably just run the SLP since it's paid for and see if there are any problems with cowl deflection once you tighten up the chassis with your other mods. You can always upgrade later.

The qa1 style stb also has a larger mounts in the towers that utlizes all 4 bolts as opposed to two.

I never try and talk someone out of making improvents. But is it an area that isn't covered well enough with the SLP?

The QA1 looks nice.

Sam Strano's car isn't running anything fancy (simple 2 point bar). He seems to have the 4th gen suspension game well figured out from a handling perspective so do what he does. Granted I'm assuming he has other complimentary mods.

Where in PA?

Jim Thorpe. Mount weatherly is pretty close too, I'm going to watch the hill climb there this weekend if it isn't cancelled due to the weather.

Call Strano.

IMO, those coilovers are a lot of $$ for not too much gain. Strano's springs with a set of Koni shocks will get you 90% of the way to where those coilovers will without breaking the bank, leaving money for other mods.

I got the coilovers for what the koni/strano combo would have cost me. I sold my Jeep so I got the cash to do other mods to the Camaro.

unstable bob gable 09-11-2018 06:41 PM

Hope the roads you burn corners on don't get like my favorite "test" road. Couldn't get any good runs in last weekend due to conga lines of mini vans and Prius'.

Shoot Jake a PM, I think he’s got a mind full of Fbody handling stuff. I know he’s running 315s squared as well as some other nice performance mods.
