I'm looking through the NHRA rule book, and I don't see anything that would restrict me from running it as is, unless Melissa can clarify something track specific, because I don't think i'm running faster than 10.9.

The new bike would be fun to run. Should be around 10 so I'll need to check the rules.

I was told you need like a chain guard and kill switch to run any bike regardless of speed. I really want to run my bike.

Motorcycles 10.99 (*6.99) seconds or quicker must be equipped with a positive ignition cutoff switch attached to the rider with a lanyard. OEM cutoff permitted in place of lanyard.
Quote:

CHAIN AND/OR BELT GUARDS
Mandatory. Must have front and rear chain guards to cover the width and at least the top run to the centerline of the sprocket of any chains or belts. The clutch assembly must have at least half of the side surface covered. The guards should be .060-inch steel or 1/8-inch aluminum unless otherwise stock equipped and be securely mounted.
Your bike should have the shield over the front sprocket, and the factory chain guide cover covers the top of the chain.

Maybe its different on older bikes, but my 2008 is all OEM.

ThoR294 09-15-2015 10:24 AM

Thanks for that info. so I can run my bike!

Does your bike have some OEM cutoff that takes place of the lanyard?

I'm pretty sure all modern bikes do, the cut-off is just the red switch on your right side.

like that.

Also, what about gear? I have a full padded suit (not leather). sigh... bikes have so many regulations lol

xrelapse13 09-15-2015 03:36 PM

Looks like i'm out.

IROCZman15 09-15-2015 06:28 PM

looks like im IN. I am not working that day and live nearby to the track and havent been to a club meet since Duke Island park in July

can someone clarify this for me or else I'll call island.....

I was recently at a car show and speaking to a dude about running my car at island. I have a helmet obviously, but he said that now, since I have a nitrous setup on the car, I'm required to have a fire jacket and or fire suit. Anyone have any insight on this? I'm only running the 100 shot, but it is a wet kit. I do have a pressure blow-down valve/tube exiting the underside of the car.

sweetbmxrider 09-16-2015 06:33 AM

Yup, power adder requires fire jacket as per NHRA.

Jersey Mike 09-19-2015 01:44 PM

Bump bump for more views. I want to see you old & new faces next week!

IROCZman15 09-22-2015 10:18 AM

L695speed 09-24-2015 09:58 PM

Hmmmm, seems I have some options for Sunday. I really shouldn't burn up what is left of my rears.... No, I really shouldn't. Probably gonna burn them up anyway. We'll see. I never could get that car to hook with the manual anyway.

I wonder if :nick: will show.....

As per Melissa at Island, Sunday 9/27 there is a rental, so she can't guarantee us our own lane or anything like that. However, we can run our cars if we want to.
You're representing 'Merida boys!

ThoR294 09-26-2015 07:31 PM
