Founders sub frame connectors

I just ordered a set of sub frame connectors from founders and was wondering if anyone used theirs. I plan on welding them in myself. Any suggestions? I will be doing the install in my garage so no lift available.

No experience with that brand but make sure the cars chassis is straight/true before welding them in.

Do it with the suspension loaded.

Save the money and make the car twist like a pretzel like I do. My 60 foots love the flex.

I thought the twisting of the chassis adds to the et.

I'm no drag wiz but both of my cars run better without SFCs. Recently bought a drag bar to take out the flex and have been trying to dial it in.... No luck 60 fts are 1.58s and up with just an air and no swaybars I'm at 1.42 -1.45. Every car and set up is different tho.
My brothers and cousin run SCF and there 60s can't touch what my cars do. Again it maybe not be right for everyone but it works for me.

Bet their not the same setup as your car either

Just like so many other issues, I research and research and then there is someone who defies all the logic. Do you have any problems with door gaps or any other issues related to chassis flexing? Those are some pretty impressive 60 fts. What tires are you running? What air pressure do you run in the air bag?

MDSheds_SS 06-23-2016 05:31 AM

The SS runs 255/60/15s Et streets @ 17psi
The Z runs 325/50/15s Et streets @ 25 psi
75psi in the airbag
No issues with door gaps or any stress cracks. Both cars have over 100 passes set up like this.
Also ran 275s with the Z same 60s without SFC or Dragbar. A few guys saw they at Racewars in 2015

75psi in airbag? I thought the max pressure was 35lbs.

MDSheds_SS 06-23-2016 05:37 PM

It probably is, but I've never had any issues. I only run 1 and they come in pairs so if it blows i can swap it out. I don't drive the car around with it. I fill it with my nitrogen tank before I make a pass and let it out before I leave the track. also neither car runs a Front or Rear sway bar.

MDSheds_SS 06-23-2016 05:40 PM

I actually hook up the drag bar only when I drive the car on the street so the rear fenders don't rub the 325s while turning because the car is lowered.

Ok so your drag suspension setup consist of no sway bars,no drag bar, lowered suspension and one over inflated air bag. What about a torque arm and shocks?
Any other surprises? And what kind of quarter mile times are you running?

MDSheds_SS 06-24-2016 06:38 AM

The SS has Short Torque arm and airbag that's it. Also thats with a 10 bolt w 373s. Made 323hp on TTPs dyno best run was 11.3
The Z has
Front Lakewood 90/10s didn't see any improvements
Rears Lakewood 50/50 . Didn't see any improvements
Eibach drag springs with heater hose mod. In the rear. Helped the stance of the car but hurt the 60' a touch.
Adjustable LCA only because I needed to move the rear to clear the 325s. Again no improvements
12 bolt 410s
Best pass 11.16 The Z should be faster but I haven't ever logged or adjusted anything since the base tune.
Both T-Top cars
Anything else just ask.

How are you launching? Rpm's,trans brake, etc. and by the way
thanks for the wealth of info.

Foot brake both cars. I flash the SS... Seems to like that better.
I push the Z until I feel the car start to lift in the back, normally that's around 2600-2800 Rpm. I have realized as cool as big burn outs are, et streets don't like to be to hot. After the 1st pass, I just do a quick burnout and that's good enough, unless its really cold out.
This is a pic of the SS wrinkling the "unloaded" tire. Attachment 8575
One of my favorite pics of this car. If this doesn't prove that an air bag works i don't know what will. Lol.

I decided not to install the sub frame connectors for now to save weight. The founders SFC are very good quality pieces though at a good price. Decided to take MDSheds_SS advice and just run the air bag.
