vortec heads, performer rpm intake. 750 cfm carb. 234/244 @ .050" .488"/.510", 114 LSA + nitrous and 3000 stall

I still have to do the lifters, pushrods and rocker arms, But Im gotta figure a few things out.

Its been tapped but Neither of the crank bolts i have will go in, but for some reason the threads are fine in the crank. Paul thinks It was the Bolt, Got another one, doesn't go in, But a bolt from my balancer removal fits well, So I might have to use something like that and lock tight it in If i cant find a balancer bolt that will work.

bad64chevelle 09-06-2007 10:41 PM

Matt is that cam the Performer RPM series? They are almost the same EXACT specs as the cam that was in the Chevelle. Good job man! Keep it up!

That looks just like a step in the right direction. Nice job. I've found fine thread bolts at Tru Value before. I'm sure you'll come across one.

No its a nostalgic crane came, but I was on a budget and got a summit cam with the same specs, Hoping it doesn't bite me in the but.

Slow 88 09-07-2007 07:45 PM

Looking good! What does the rest of the drivetrain consist of?

r0nin89 09-08-2007 12:12 PM

Good to see your getting somewhere with the car. It was always my dream to build a badass motor for the 3rd gen I had but alas when the parents caught on I was trying to build a car like my cousins 11sec fox body I was shot down. O well the woods are fun :D

WayFast84 09-09-2007 11:21 AM

I took the intake and valve covers off today. I put in the lifters, pushrods and then my 1.5 roller rockers. I dont know if I should put my intake on for good right now. Does it need to come off when I have some one set valve lash?

leave it off, as it will be easier to do, the lifters gotta be on the heal of the cam. im assuming u kno how to set them(tighten to no movement from rod, then 1/2 turn more) also matt what type of cam? roller or non? if non ur gonna have to break it in on frist start up which aint hard but very important. yea im waiting for a couple paychecks to come in be4 i get pistons for my 400, found me a nice set of .030 overs i want with rings, just gotta figure out what comp i wanna run with the 76cc heads, i think im gonna go for 10.5:1 should be a nice lil motor then

what does the motor want?

trashman01 09-09-2007 03:12 PM

im only lookin to get 400hp outta it or close. but i gotta get a car to drop it into, im thinking either late 60s/early 70s nova or a 64-67 chevelle. im not sure yet cuz i also want a drop top t/a(ls1)
