cars hp

hey guys what all would you guys say I would have to do to boost up my hp to beat a srt4 in the 1/m..When I had my 91 z28 305 I raced him and he beat me by 2 cars I am hoping I wont have to do to much to my 350 since its a bigger motor...I dont now what year it is, I thinks its an 04 im not sure...

chrisfrom nj 01-05-2008 06:41 PM

put a 150 shot of nos

Kid Racer 01-05-2008 06:46 PM

wont nos blow my motor up...

Tru2Chevy 01-05-2008 06:56 PM

If he only beat you by two cars with the 305, chances are you'll be neck and neck with him with an L98 car.

In reality, it's all gonna come down to the driver.

Like I said, it should come down to the driver.

We can sit here all day and debate which car would be faster, but that doesn't mean that you are a better driver that the guy with the SRT4.

Okay so do you guys think I should race him..Im kind of nerves about it because he beat me last time we raced and talked so much **** about it...

you wont blow it up you will go faster

Kid Racer 01-05-2008 07:26 PM

I always herd nos will blow your motor up if u aint got forged parts.Cause my motor is bone stock..

SteveR 01-05-2008 08:13 PM

dont worry about N2O. Do some mild bolt ons to get a bit more power and practice your abilities at the track before you race him.

Kid Racer 01-05-2008 08:17 PM

im not worry about driving skills...i can drive and i have people that well say that the only thing i need to do is get to the track and see what i run people r telling me i need more then bolt ons....

SteveR 01-05-2008 08:20 PM

I hear you, I'm not questioning your ability, just saying that after you do some work to the car and you're making more power, you should get a few runs under your belt to get a feel for how the car has changed before you go heads up.

OK racing is a sport and in sports not everybody plays by the same rules - bracket racers heavy, street, and super pro, and all of nhra for that fact try to snooker the other guy they almost always lift off the gas ( DRAGING THE BRAKE ) < the real term - to the other guy who is slower soooo if money comes in to it and it will you might be a target sooooo do all what you think you will need before a re match than you will have a 1/2 a chance of compeating apples to apples -- jz

nj96z28 01-05-2008 09:14 PM

racer ive got a 96 z28 w/lt1 (i know its different than your l98) but i can eat srt-4's and still have enough in the tank to tear up a tiburon . i have nothing but bolt-ons and a catback. dont let some 1 spitting hteir teeth at ya intimidate ya. get some bolt ons and run the car a few times till ur comfortable than whoop that PoS dodge!

btw the tiburon reference happened.. beat srt-4 only to have a tiburon that followed and watched try me next.... was on 287... silly ricers

79CamaroDiva 01-05-2008 09:29 PM

you said he beat you by 2 car lengths.. what were the actual times? contrary to popular belief, real racing is measured in tenths not lengths..

in order for us to give you a better idea, we have to knwo what his car runs.

yawn, life was better when you were missing in action

If you ran him on the street, you can only guess that he would have you by 2 cars at the 1/4.. he could have had you by 2 cars an 1/8 mile into it, you don't know if you both took off at the same time, is his car stock? i've seen srt-4s that are VERY quick.. sounds like too many variables that you don't know to be able to put any money or bragging rights on a stock 350..

Kid Racer 01-06-2008 12:42 PM

well he beat me at the end i had him all the way but he cam around me and ur right i am geussing he had me by 2 cars it wasnt more then 2 tho......

Kid Racer 01-06-2008 01:38 PM

hey guys if i ad these few parts to my car what do u thing the chance are...
lt1 cam and springs locks with 24# svo injectors

NJSPEEDER 01-06-2008 02:07 PM

racing is about being quick, not fast. work on chassis and gearing and even if he manages an equal or little better power to weight ratio you will kill him.

Knipps 01-06-2008 02:34 PM

could also put the car on a diet and take out somethings that aren't necessary

Kid Racer 01-06-2008 02:43 PM

Like what.I am already striping the inside out...I would take the front sway bar out but I don't wanna do that because people say it drives better with it in...

Skip the LT1 cam....it's not much bigger than an L98 cam to make it worthwhile.

Just remove it for the race and then put it back on....it's only 6 bolts.

BTW, I hope that you are planning on racing him at the track this time.
