need quick help - NHRA rule
when is a driveshaft loop required? im placing an order with summit in a few mins and need to know if i should buy one or not
f you guys i bought one anyway
Driveshaft loop and long wheel studs are required on any car running slicks. A lot of tracks have been expanding the term "slicks" to include cheater slicks and drag radials
its also required on a car running under 11.49 i believe...dunno if ill actually go that quick but its nice to have anyway. any idea what the rule is for wheel studs? i knew i was forgetting something
I don't know the exact wording, but basically the studs need to stick out of the end of the lugnut at least as far as the width of the stud. So for example, if your wheel studs are 1/2" thick, then they need to stick out of the end of the lugnut by 1/2".

DS Loops are required on ALL cars running 13.99/quicker on slicks OR
11.49 and quicker on DOT tires. and if you really needed to know right away, you could have text me |
yeah i didnt think about that melissa. you think im smart or something?
i just googled it and took the first answer i saw....its a good thing to have either way anyway |
sure is..........saved my floor and probably feet
Ya. Esp the way you shift :-)

Cheap insurance. It's not like a loop is a couple hundred dollars.

Yea, not sure what I was thinking when I wrote that. A 1/2" stud needs to stick into the hex portion of the lugnut at least 1/2", not out of the end of the lugnut.
