Tick Performance Cam

1 Attachment(s)
So I decided to cam my vert. I ordered the Tick Performance SNS Torque Max stage 2. Also picked up an ls6 intake and potz tb. Can't wait to see what numbers it's going to put down.

That's a lot of cam. Any other mods done? Stick, auto?

crb1585 01-11-2016 08:35 AM

It's an M6. Long tubes, SLP lid, ls6 intake, ported throttle body. It's not my daily so I didn't mind going big.

Blackbirdws6 01-11-2016 08:39 AM

Should be a lot of fun. Take pics/vid and show us the progress along the way. Are you doing the install yourself and who is handling the tuning?

crb1585 01-11-2016 08:42 AM

My brother owns a dealership so his mechanic is doing it. We will then trailer it to efx for the tune.

Looking forward to cranking some power out of her.

Don't get too excited, our dyno is quite stingy. We've had sub 500 hp cars go into the 9 second range.

Really? How did you get so much power out of that red lt1 bird? I think it was around 500rwhp with a stock bottom end? I'm not sure if it is one of the 9 second cars you are referring to though.

I think you're referring to Francis' DirtyBird. That car is a stock bottom end and stock casting heads with a combo that just works. Granted the car hasn't been on the dyno since the transmission was swapped to TH400. His car laid down really good power through the 4L60E and was shocked myself. His car runs good for the fact it's a battle tank. Here are a couple videos, the 9 second GN powerd mustang weight 3000lbs and made 497 horsepower and the 5.3 Mustang made similar on one stage.

This Corvette made 840 on our dyno and already has been 161 mph at Atco this passed fall.

Do you know what it runs? And can you expand more on the battle tank comment? I'm a bit confused and not well versed in drag racing nor maths :|

Dudbird113 01-22-2016 11:27 AM

Battle tank= lead sled= 3800 pound car

crb1585 01-22-2016 11:47 AM

Ok the install is finished today and I have to pick the car up because it's taking up space at the garage. It's going to be tuned in a couple weeks. Am I safe to drive it home without a tune?? I will also have to drive it to efx in February without a tune. If not I will have to coordinate to have it trailered.

How did you get it to 3800 pounds and what did it run?

crb1585 02-03-2016 04:05 PM

The car is being dropped off at EFX. Thanks Dave. Can't wait to get it on the road.

sweetbmxrider 02-03-2016 04:47 PM

Would really love to hear more about that dirtybird instead of the vague "ricer" replies that are meaningless.

Lol thank you for sharing!!

What would you like to know? I have been horribly out of the loop on this build. I haven't even seen or heard the car yet. I failed to get any pics or vids

So the vert is done. Numbers are 366/358. I attached the graph. Not too bad for cam only and stock heads.
